Psychedelic Indica and Kush Strains

Peace and Blessings to Everyone!!! Does anyone know of any psychedelic/lysergic Kush or Indica strains. I recently just smoked some flower that my Dad got and it definitely had to be a kush or indica dominant strain, however its affects were profoundly trippy. I want to know if any indica landraces or kush landraces have those qualities stated above.

Peace Be Upon You!!!

not landrace, but banana og is the trippiest indica i have ever had…every time. every decade.

Many people think Indica = couch lock and boring. I find that a lot of the old Indicas from 80s and earlier are highly refreshing and psychedelic. Kosher Kush, LA Confidential/Affie. I’ve also had good experience with Alien OG (turns on cartoon filter) and this Jade Nectar Indica tincture which he just combined a bunch of old landraces from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.

The most psychedelic I’ve had lately was “Blueberry GMO” by Paper Planes extracts.

Alien OG was always a super trippy strain for me.

Not too sure where the best place to find the genetics is though. @JAWS is the one reliable source ive seen work anything alien adjacent. Could be others out there

Triangle kush can sometimes have similar effects for me especially in hybrids but not nearly as intense as alien.

Blue rhino is another super trippy indica, i really enjoyed back in the day. More similar to a trippy blueberry

LA Confidential can be trippy or thought-provoking. Bubba Kush can be trippy sometimes. And OG Kush def. can be.
Also G13 alone or G13/Hashplant both have strong mental effects while also having indica body relaxing qualities.

What do you think the Old School indicas and kushes had that made them so psychedelic? Is it the genetics/region or growing/curing methods?

Everytime? Have others you smoked with get the same effects? Banana Og might be one I add to my list.

Seems like everyone has good things to say about Alien Og and some Blueberry crosses (I gotta add those especially the Alien). I’ve only had the cartoon effect when I smoked some garlic cocktail a few years back.

My opinion, steer away from OG/Kush typical US variants and go for the more regional Kush’s from the Kush Valley of the Kush peoples  lol nah but still, I’d still go the more regional route for the effects you seek.

Everytime, pretty much. Especially the first few times on a new one. Those can be wild and not much impresses me. I have a smoke report in the Banana OG thread. maybe check it out. when i finally was able to grow again, the first strain i got was a Banana OG cross (the og wasn’t available). One of those plants had IT too. so, it’s in the crosses as well.

it might be worth noting that the chemical smell we associate with melon, like chocolope, is the same as with banana. The difference is that banana is more concentrated. Ecig juice works like this. Cantaloupe haze is pretty trippy, right?

A lot of people tell me Og Kush/Kosher is trippy. I have some 24K gold I could pop this spring to see, along with an La Confidential cross. G13 is like that also? A psychedelic and body high sounds nice.

Thank you for the guidance. Yeah I already suffered those consequences, can’t find any really DANK kushes/indicas anymore. Atleast in my neck of the woods you can’t.

I don’t generally find those effects in indicas unless I have no tolerance. Yoda OG and Herijuana are the closest I’ve come to those interesting cerebral effects, but that was a decade ago or more. The African heirlooms, Vietnamese Black, Nevils Haze and some Snowhigh hybrids are the ones that reliably get me in a psychedelic and otherworldly state :call_me_hand:

Take a look at @drgreensleeves Trip Weed thread on here, he’s doing the Lord’s work.

You just made something click in my mind. Definitely something to do with the terpenes or certain order/layering of those cannabinoids in Banana and Cantaloupe. Seriously good thought

I found GDP to have some strong mind effects

I read a little bit of that thread, guess I gotta take a deeper dive. Yeah it seems to be always the equatorial varities and sativas have the most profound trip effects. I’ll check out Yoda Og also. Thank you for the direction!!

Where are you finding this mystical GDP? I’ve smoked a lot of GDP and only once have I got to the point where it was almost trippy. I fell asleep lol.

Yeah those effects seem to come from the minor cannabinoids and terpenes that don’t develop until 12+ weeks of flowering in my experience (otherwise a lot of us on here wouldn’t grow such long flowering stuff)
