Purple City Genetics (PCG) appreciation thread

Just smoked a joint of some Grandi Guava, it checks every box for me man. Real fantastic stuff. The Bubba Diagonal has a great high, but it reeks of sunscreen? It’s like being a kid and getting smothered in sunscreen by my father all over again.

Their Bombay Crush was top notch man. Some of my favorite smoke thus far in life.

grandiguava is a classic for sure. there is a newer grandiflora cut being passed around by pcg called blue limonene, worth checking out. loud lemon candy terps, less “sharp” citrus than some other lemon bud ive had, almost a sweet background flavor? people seem to like her because she gets blackout purps sometimes if you chill her kinda like gelato without those bakery gelato / cake terps

ive smoked some bubbia diagonal from the dispensary but that cut never made its way to my dispensary unfortunately. based on what my buddy told me its supposed to be super reliable for crop steering.

Day 16 or 17 and the Fruit Gusher girls have gone completely ham the last week. Too much of a good thing, as they are now eating the lights and are about to get folded, many folds. For reference, the Trop Cherry right next to them is just about the right height for that light.
All beans from PCG have been really vigorous. Lemon MacMelon maybe the most. Got a really good pic of them in veg somewhere, will see about finding it.

Here we go! Lemon MacMelon on day 42 from seed. Dramatic as the pic might look, the real thing was even more so.

Pcg is legit but they provide for the current market and 90% of their cuts aren’t gonna stick around. No hate, it’s just that they fill a specific market slot.

pcg puts out a wide variety of cuts. everything from the flavor of the month cookies crosses to old school piff hazes. the bread and butter house variety cuts are workhorses, dependable to produce / not pop nanners if the lighting conditions go wry.

they also have seasonal selections that might be less commerciable for whatever reason but has amazing terps. those seasonal selections do come and go but that doesnt make them any less special. i really enjoy their seasonal hazes. this season it was Bob Hope, last year it was 1987. Both of those cuts are phenomenal if youve had a chance to sample them, regardless if they are only seasonal. i try as many flavors as i can and keep the ones i find incredibly compelling.

Absolutely and I’m not putting their work down. I just think the majority won’t be kept around as landmark work. Gush mints, sure.

Do any reliable US seedbanks sell purple city genetics seeds?

I see they’re partnered with a number of dispensaries in California but is there a way for people outside CA to buy their seeds (and maybe clones too…)?

Definitely looks like they have some good stuff. Added to my list of breeders to try for sure! lol

Thanks! Just gave them a follow on IG. Do they sell seeds or just clones? I saw one post with a clone list + prices but didn’t see anything on seed list/prices with a quick scroll.

The Molotov is actually my least favorite of the bunch. The smell in flower was SO good but the smoke was definitely lacking in the taste department. High is good but nothing to write home about…bag appeal is AMAZING same with how she looks in flower. Absolutely beautiful looking plants!! And she is done right at 7 weeks do not let her run long. THC % will be greatly affected. If pushed to 8 she will only test 26% vs the 33-34% range. And in the legal market is a huge difference.

Compared to Mango Mintality or Gushmints we’re not even in the same ballpark. From a production standpoint these two strains are about the highest flower to leaf ratio massive yielding power houses I’ve ever seen. The only issues is Gushmints can take up to 11 weeks to get the 31+% percent from her and the Mango has a slight instability starting around day 65 or so…she’s done in 10 weeks and all I’ve found were sterile flowers but still something to keep an eye on.

Billy Ocean is fuckin amazing in her own right with the most delicious tropical fruit drink flavor and smells…and bag appeal is literally 2nd to NONE.

But having said all that PCG strain’s in general are about the best you can find consistently. Absolutely stellar genetics!:facepunch:t3:

Gush mints yields so much, bud rot is also an issue if not careful, I’m told

But that’s like, well that figures right? That’s the tradeoff for such thick towers
