Farming is tough! Significant damage to the front tomatoes, damage to the hoop plastic, a couple plants got whacked pretty good. Overall it could be worse I guess! Just got power restored! I have worse pictures it just shows the house and I’m not into sharing that…sorry!
Well, I’m glad you guys are safe and have power again.
The damage is a bummer, looks like that tree has had some better days.
Thanks @FieldEffect !
I feel like all i have been doing is complaining about the weather on this thread! Been a tough year, but given how bad it has been it really shows how resilient plants are!
Upsides are, I now have more sun in my yard! Also a great year to select plants for wind toughness, septoria, hail stress, and resilience after big stress events! Just trying to find the silver lining!
Thinking about which pollen to throw on the Iranian. Thinking NL1, NL1 x puck, NL5, black domina, kine bud……!
The freezeland and friesland would be great candidates for pollen donors for the iranian early flower! Super early genetics!
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the pollen you have
almost makes it harder!!! Only so many branches! I’m going to run out right now and pollenate a branch with nl1!
I’m going to need some help telling when I should be pollinating for the best seeds outdoors. I have some Shiskaberry pollen I want to cross to my 907 and that’s maybe just a week or two behind that Iranian by the looks of it.
I wish I had your pollen collection! I need to get something setup for males, or cloning/reversals. All of those things
Love all the hardcore indica stuff you’ve been growing and breeding with
I think the NL1 is a great choice. Probably produce some uniform offspring from two stable lines. Why’d you pick it?
Just got back! Pollination complete! We shall see if this year old nl pollen is still viable. I just used a qtip inside a bag to limit contamination. There is no wind right now though.
The reason I picked the NL1 is, just what you said, it is stable. Also could be great to have an nl that finished a little earlier. Iranian can take 2 weeks off some varieties. It is also cold resistant which the iranian lacks along with bud rot resistance. I could see this being a great line for northern outdoor!
Sounds like a good one
That is a stud!
Luana (hawaiian ibl) F2 from Pistil Positive. I am liking this line and how quick it is! Definitely has some openness to the line. One big sativa bush and a kush looking type. Got one male that had it’s top wither away, hail damage? It is looking like the thinner leaf “sativa” type. Regardless, it looks like a stud. Odd that it is one of the last males to flower.
Thin leaf “sativa” pheno
Kush pheno
Male - looking pretty resinous!
I am hoping the thin leaf type will finish in September as it is right along some of my freezelands! Kush type looks to be still stretching and will go toward October. Time will tell. I’ll keep you posted!
Interesting how the “kush” looking plant the leaves are closer together, not spread out like you typically see.
Reminds me of the SR-71 purple kush bx seeds i ran last year from Guam Maineian gardens.
Septoria is fucking out of control. I have been spraying weekly, but all the rains are spreading it. I think this year may be a lost cause. Never seen it this bad. Has me depressed! A few plants seems to be resistant. This year has been a nightmare.
Going to do some serious breeding work for septoria resistance this year! That is how I am going to turn this problem into a positive. Hopefully next year I will have plants with serious resistance. Freezelands, some pnwhp x puck, iranian early flower, NL5, hawaiian cat piss, and early girl seem to have the best resistance so far.
