wadafuq? Is there some ban on expressing your feelings in the smokers lounge?
That thread was closed as requested by the OP. However and additionally

As a Canadian I have strong feelings about the events that were the subject of that thread but Overgrow has a no politics policy for a reason and I am glad it does. Those threads always take a turn and end up creating decent among users. This has no positive benefit for anyone. I for one have zero interest in seeing folks that used to get along ending up at odds over political topics on a grow site. There are plenty of places one can go talk politics if they wish and a cannabis grow site is not really that venue. Itās not about stopping anyone from expressing their opinions, itās about preventing discourse among members which inevitably ends up the case with such threads and has been seen time and time again. When one joins OG they agree to those terms so where is the issue? The member was in error for starting such a thread and asked it be closed. I respect that member for a number of reasons and that is one of them. So no, there is no ban on expressing your feeling in the smokers lounge. Just need to follow the TOS that one agreed too upon joining the site.
Man, I always miss the scoop.
i think you mean ādiscordā not ādiscourseā. discourse is the forum software we use and it means communication, while discord is another user interface ) not sure iād call it a forum) and it actually means ālack of agreementā. not sure why they picked that term but itās fairly popular.
i also disagree with the premise of closing a topic because it may veer into political disagreement. i read all the links except those that were deleted and it was going pretty good. we are all adults here and donāt have to participate in every single thread. there are many i stay away from for various reasons but in no way do i think they should go anywhere, i just stay away. i like the no politics rule also but everything is political and it doesnāt always devolve into disagreement while disagreements pop up all the time that arenāt political. thatās what moderation is for.
i belong to an unmoderated forum and it is toxic. if it werenāt internachiās home inspection forum iād disappear completely from that, but itās a work thing and helps with seo for my website. and thatās another thing we should have here, the ability to put a link to our websites in a signature. it doesnāt really hurt anything and helps us out. something to think about anyway. it would be a nice gesture of good will toward all of us regulars who canāt afford a monthly payment. anyway, way off topic now. my bad. carry on.
edit: speaking of us regulars, where did the regular go by my name?
I think ādissentā was an issue and ādiscourseā worked quite well as used. But being a Yank not sure I qualify to correct anothersā English.
I wish I had never said a word. You can drop your clubs now, the fuckin horse is dead.
