Recycle old 16mm tentrods to make my new tent more stable

I suddenly managed to model my corner mounts for my old rods.
I’d share the model files if you are interested.

Cool man.

I’ve been using bungee cords of different lengths to do this. The 2’ side is easy enough but I have to mod them for the 4’ side which I haven’t done yet.

I tried different alternatives, but most of them are pulling or pushing the tent rods. This adds additional stress to the whole construction.

How did you mount the bungee cords?

The ones I have have hooks on them so I just hook them to the poles.

Oh nice, you could even use two and make an X shape to have a larger area stabilized.

Yes I think that’d work if that’s your goal. Mostly I have them to prevent my tent from sucking in the sides too much because I blast the cfm through it.

Amazing work! 3D printer here too!

Is there already a section here olready for 3D designs and models?

I would be happy to model and share things also. I saw a guy on ig these days from germany with lots of great ideas for pots and tents.

@BallerBlume Hey, didnt you mention something like a repo for 3d models?

That’s a great idea. I never thought that the tension would be enough to hold the sides during negative pressure.

That’s the whole problem with the 4’ section. I can’t quite get the tension right.

The tent still sucks in quite a bit but this way it’s more shaped like a diamond.
