Regs don't sell?

I like regs… better Gene pool

I don’t know what to tell you my friend, I’m growing bagseed from bagseed from bagseed for ages without any inbreed depression…
Inbreed depression although a nice term is irrelevant if you have good genetics and traits to start with.
If you have a plant like ogkb and the pheno you got has killer smoke but grow like a turtle, no doubt when you breed further and selecting only for the smoke traits without taking into account other ailments of said phenos is gonna lead to “inbreed depression”.
But that’s a given and not the case, and even if so it’s definitely not gonna happen in the S2.
I’ve seen so much S2 and S3 plants and they grow same as yours I promise you, well a bit better as they are already goal oriented from the gene pool selection.
I agree, different approach for both and goals.
Find what suit you.

I smoke all (reg or fem) runts , when possible ^^

But i never use them (reg or fem) while some make it a true specialization … i mean at the game of “let’s be all the same”, the cascading considerations are virtually infinites.

Do you smoke male runts aswell ? :money_mouth_face:

Do you have pics, my brother? Noticed your only topic was a germination issue one.

Do you have any sources for this? :purple_heart:

I’m just trying to learn here

Some of the best plants we’ve sampled have been off of the runts (or I should say, the runts of a litter). Don’t give up on the runts.

Bagseed doesnt necessarily mean S1 though. Making F1 fem hybrids over and over will forsure eliminate that. Even guys like CSI say he avoids inbreeding depression a lot with sister/sister breeding from S1 stock. But at that point, thats not an S2 in the sense that were talking about with 1 parental plant. And bagseed is a total crapshoot as to what the parentage is.

Like I mentioned, if you have these legendary S3 seeds that will outgrow even our best regs. Put them in peoples hands, and prove it. Im always happy to see people innovating. And if its a valuable tool, there’s lots of great folks on here who would give it a try.

I want to see more discussions such as this one on Overgrow, where I can learn a lot (as opposed to 90% of the threads lol)

Why do you need sources to tell you what every 3 year old can tell you ?
If you choose only for 1 trait and ignore the rest, eventually they are going to pop up in the seeds you make, selecting the perfect pheno is the name of the game and this is where big numbers come into play
If you can’t select from big enough numbers you just shoot your best shot, if your plant is a good smoke but grows like shit, and you choose further good smoke plants but shit growth you will suffer from it down the line when you choose deeper in the line, that’s also where knowledge and balance come into play when selecting

Bagseed, means I did a clone run, got some seeds, grew them then got some seeds again, grew them again, always selecting for the traits I want.
The problems start arising when you choose plants that only smoke good and ignoring other ailments, next bagseed and the next after that will suffer from “inbreed depression”
But you can balance that, selection is key and where the true magic of breeding is.

What part of what you said is 3 year old knowledge? I didn’t come at you aggressively. It’s a forum, buddy. Respect others and try to converse or kindly leave.

You’re oversimplifying selections. Please show us some pictures of these perfect phenos you’ve found while running large numbers. Back up what you’re saying. Insulting others shows your lack of tact. And maybe knowledge. How can you be sure of what genes express themself further down? And you’re of the belief we should all have the space and resources to run large numbers? If I have to run large numbers is your idea really that good?

Its luck of the draw even with the best intentions on the outcrosses.

For selecting its numbers yes, but I’d luck is involved too. I got lucky with only popping 3 seeds to find a keeper in the LL.

My idea for a cross was to put some H/SK1xSk1 x H/Sk1 on her with the goal of having the Lazy lightning flavor { robust lemony earth} to transfer into onto some later flowering haze leaning plants and have yet to find it. So I will continue until I find it in the F1s.

Who knows I may never find it, but can say I did the work to see and find out.

What else have you selected/ currently selecting in this “rest” category? If not for said traits.

The pollen that is flying on/from your perfect pheno plants isnt a personal selection then. It’s just how the wind blew that day.

Yes, self or reverse, if you self only the white lady, I’ll know I’ll get a white child, easy
If I mix them I know I have a 50/50 chance of both
Not so hard to understand.
Any generation will exhibit what you select in the prior and then some.

In the rest category I’m talking about growth traits, not smoking traits such as potency effect taste smell

Wind or not, those are S1 seeds, and I grew them, and picked the best and grew it, and it was even better, super weird :see_no_evil:
I’m willing to bet the seeds I got now (70+) from my last run will be even better, as they were made from even better… The cycle don’t stop until I select only for my smoking pleasure and forget to select a more balanced plant overall so I won’t suffer down the line from what people call “depressions” but are actually bad selections

Right here my friend. Grab a notebook.

@DopeKiller please. Please? Please give us pictures of your open pollinated fems.

Your intentions may be good, but look up dunning-Kruger effect. We mean well too
