I’m nearly done harvesting seeds from my first seed run. I started 3 plants from seed: 2x Unicorn Whip (Dirty Bird Genetics) and 1x Ringo’s Gift (MSNL). They were each dusted with pollen donated by @9mag (thanks bud): Charcuterie (Cannarado Genetics).
About the 3 plants:
Unicorn Whip phenotype #1:
This plant didn’t do well half way into flower. It started dropping leaves and shriveling up, unlike its sister in the same environment and soil, under the same light, in the same pot, with the same watering routine. It seems to have been a phosphorus deficiency, but I couldn’t correct it. Its buds stopped developing about 4 weeks in, and when I tested some bottom larf buds, the seeds were soft and immature. I wasn’t expecting any return when I chopped it, but the thing was loaded with seeds. Most of them were unripe, but quite a few were surprisingly fully ripe. It had a very sweet smell, likely from its Cookies/Gelato lineage, but also with a subtle funk to it that I can’t quite place it’s so small. It definitely had the punch to back the smell up, too.
Unicorn Whip phenotype #2:
This plant performed very well in flower, despite growing in a 1.6gal pot. It didn’t have much of a smell in flower just like its sister, but man… after drying this plant was the exact opposite of its sister. That subtle funk completely dominated the nose on this one, with only a subtle sweetness. The funk smells almost like old school cheese. It was an incredible smoke. I’m definitely going to work this seed line more in the future.
Ringo’s Gift:
I didn’t get to sample the flower yet, but I will say that this is the frostiest CBD-dominant flower I’ve ever grown out of a couple dozen. It makes me wonder if I got a recessive THC-dominant phenotype out of this, but I won’t get to sample it until I’m done cleaning the seeds in a day or two. It also smells really good… floral mostly.
Anyway, all 3 of these plants were grown from seed in 1.6gal pots and dusted with the same pollen. I’m actually surprised at how many seeds I got considering the small pot size and the very little pollen I had and applied just once, about 3 weeks into flower. I have a few hundred seeds, more than I need for continuing my experiments. Everything else I’d like to give away. The only thing I ask is to pay for mailing expenses because I have no source of income at the moment. If you are interested and you can’t afford that, send me a message anyway and if I can squeeze you in I definitely will if there’s seeds left.
Again, these are untested seeds, and F1’s at that, so expect a high degree of variance. Would love to follow along to see what they do if you tag me.
Here’s the diaries for the 2 strains:
