I defoliated and pruned today because the canopy was way too thick. Shoots and weak unlit branches galore.
Then when I was about done I noticed my watering system was offline. So I screwed around with it for a couple of hours until the Growtek guy helped me get it back online. I was freaking out because I have the automation setup to every 30 minutes. I think I messed it up by jamming it with too many commands. But it works now, so I don’t have to handwater 20 times a days for the next couple months. So that’s nice.
I just ordered a new replacement probe from my Apera PH pen. It was giving weird readings, so I calibrated it and that was wonky. The 7ph and 4ph were okay, but the 10ph was saying 9.5ph. A $35 tip is a lot better than $100 for a new Bluelab pen.
Eventually I want to get a Pulse PH probe to go along with my sensor hub, but they are $280. So that will have to wait.
Thanks! I had a falling out with Bluelab after being a loyal customer for many years. The Apera is great. One thing that I love about it is being able to manually turn on the backlight. Blumat automatically turn off after so long and you have to restart it to turn the light back on. That’s just a little thing, but it’s really useful.
I think I said “Blumat” earlier. My bad, Blumat. It’s Bluelab who I no longer love.
Dude Im glad your mom is OK. We had a massive pine snap about 30 feet up. Went flying like 15 feet from where it stood. Luckily it went parallel with the house, instead of at the house.
I added a second tier trellis a couple of days ago. I raised up the lights today because the plants in the middle have stretched a lot. Today is 3 weeks into flower, so that’s probably done.
I love how flat the canopy is when nets are used correctly like your setup. I hand water and have to pull plants to get to the back so it doesn’t work well for me. It would be so nice to be able to have an even canopy though. Your plants look terrific!
Thanks. The plants in the first and last rows are a lot smaller. I suspect it was from a lack of warm air circulating earlier on. I really need some new fans. I could fill an Olympic sized swimming pool with dead fans.
I tried every watering wand on earth, but most were too large in the spout part to get to the pot easily. So I bought these things. I took the spout and the ball valve (which fits a garden hose and complicates things) off of the wand, slid the silicone tube through the wand, and used a ball valve by the handle. You can let the tube stick out of the end a few inches, which lets you get under even a manifolded type plant.
A nice thing about silicone tubing is you can just pinch it to cut off the water. The ball valve is for flow control. The wand is just to give support to the tubing.
