My friends! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! How is everyone doing!?
Here is a update for my second grow this last year and a over view of everything produced this year.
The second grow of the year was interesting for sure. Instead of growing 4 plants, I chose to do only 3.
1 – Bruce Banner (thought it was a maui wowie)
2 – G13
3 – Maui Wowie (thought it was a Sour Diesel)
(Maybe I should smoke after I take clones and label cups hehe…)
As in the previous grow the bruce banner shot up quick but this time I trimmed it down and flip the tent early so it could not take over. Had I know it was BB when I put it in the octo pot, I would have waited a week before the others ones were planted.
As they started to flowering I realized the one I thought was a SD was Maui Wowie, so I was little excited because the previous grow the G13,SD,MW did not have the space to grow and mature and the yield was terrible. What I have tried out from the Spring grow except for the BB, I was less impressed with.
Here are some pics of the pre-flowering.
G13
You will notice that I did cups again this year. I always over clone as sometimes friends want some and because I don’t want to be in a position where I don’t have stuff to plant because of clones failing. I hate throwing them away. I used the same ol Sunshine Mix #4 and TPS1. They did great!
Here are some late flowering pics.
The cups did great if you ask me. Look.
What are the numbers?
Not bad at all in my book. nice too see them all weighing in about the same weight. Look at the cups! I oz. I didn’t trim them in the trimmer but by hand and heck 1oz off of cups has me doing more math ![]()
1.4 lbs of shake and bud is what my avg is in a 5x5 tent growing with octo pots and TPS1. 3 Plants is the target number for sure. It is too crowed with four with the size plants I grow all you do is waste time and money on another plant. You might get 1oz more.
See Spring grows with 4 plants.
Whoopie one OZ difference. So 3 plants going forward.
Stain overview for the year.
The G13 had great structure. The smell gives off a fruit, bubblegumish smell. Pretty tasty after just 30 days of curing. I will grow this again.
The Sour Diesel, I really have not smoked any of this. It smells like sour tarts and yeah diesel. A few friends have and they say it is pretty good. Buds were light but that is because they were crowded by the Bruces.
The Bruce Banner AKA Jolly Green Giant.
Bruce banner name fits this strain as so does the Jolly Green Giant. This thing vegs quick and should be planted 2 weeks after you plant your other plants if you are growing them with Indica’s because they will out veg them. I could not imagine how big these things would get outside and I might try next year. I will probably not grow this indoors again though. Not enough room.
It smokes great! I like it a lot. I can see why dispensaries get cleaned out as soon as they get it. Nice tight buds.
The Maui wowie, the last grow produced some crunchy buds and it smokes and taste very good after 3 weeks of curing. Needs more though.
I hit my timelines this year. One thing I am glad I am not doing this year is growing in this weather. Much colder in Va this year and I could not imagine having to heat the grow house. Speaking of the grow house. I am getting work done on it to remove the door on the side and connect the two sides from the inside. I have to keep my supplies on one side and the tent on the other side. Can’t wait to get this done.
Next year!
So I am narrowing down the list for next year. Going to do different strains between the spring and fall grow and not do any clones for my growing. I am doing this so I can control the grow dates and “not have to wait another week” etc which shift everything right. I also have a lot of seeds of different strains and they are aging so I see no need to clone grow for myself next year. Right now I know I am going to do…
- Durban Poison.
- Bruce Banner (outside)
- Super Skunk
- Blue Berry
- Cherry Pie.
One more thing to share not cannabis related. My 98 year old Grandfather died in september. He was in a band in the early 40’s and 50’s. I ended up getting his 1952 Gold Top Gibson E-295 and his amp which is older than the guitar. This is the same type of one Scotty Moore played with Elvis. Both are getting refurbished and put back in original condition. Guitar needs a little work. Hell yeah I plugged them both up and played them. Amp has no ground and I am still alive. ![]()
That is all I got my friends! good talk everybody!
