I was in a bar off the main road which was always empty to find Dave Burgess of The Champs banging away at the old piano they had in there. Well, really just a PH pen I guess. I may be able to come up with one soon. I was also hoping to get a little more mobile first but If I get somebody over here the day I want to fill the pots, I can get them to bring them inside for me.
I’m getting closer. I had a good doc visit and he cut me loose to start PT and to just use one crutch. I won’t see him again for two months. Also the weather hs been a little extreme but getting closer to spring. I did sprout 4 Fem seeds from Josh_Blue to see if I can get anything going in my condition.
So far, I think I’m gonna come around okay. Once we get our next good warm spell, I’ll try and get them filled up and into the house so I can go when ever ready. That’ll be the biggest hurdle; getting the pots inside. Actually, now that I think about it I could maybe carry one at a time. hmmmm. I’m probably gonna need to grab more ProMix and EWC. Our grow shop pulled out and the closest one of those is 90m north. Well, we have one at a local nursery but they have high prices.

I’ve been ill with a stomach bug/virus for a few days and haven’t felt good at all. Yesterday was a little better so maybe today will be. Started out a little rough.

I just need about four teenage boys to be my slaves. I missed that boat. ha
I’m gonna try and dig up a good lawyer to see if I can’t get some compensation for this leg infection. That’ll be a long shot I bet, and take forever… Other than all of that, I’m doing fine. Been getting mucho snow with another big one middle of the week. Last one was supposed to be a 1/2 inch but got 6+ inches and it was right 0º yesterday morning. But, temps today may carve it up.

I still owe him a lot of mowed grass days, but now that my lawn mower destroyed my leg, I’m not sure I can do that anymore. It was too painful. If I find a riding mower, I guess I’ll have to haul that out to his place.

Walmart started selling ProMix last year, so I need to check with them to see which one it is. I also have plenty of used soil I could re-use in a pinch. I actually have some ProMix left and it may be enough to fill the to pots.

WalMart also carries a very good fish fertilizer: (Veg)“Alaska Fish Fertilizer” (5-1-1) also a Bloom “Morebloom” 0-10-10 & Kelp fertilizer Good solid nutrients’ have used with good sucess

Oh, I usually just pic one up locally and and they’re about a 15lb bag… does that sound right? I have a bag in the other room and just enough to make a little soil for the four I just sprouted. I have to go see how the other place here is doing on prices this year. The last time that Grow Generation closed and moved to a new place the other place thought they went out of business and doubled the prices on soil and EWC, lol. I never went back. They’re good people but I think that was the decision by the guy managing the place at the time.
I could easily recycle my old soil. I’ve been tossing it all into one of my raised beds. I think Octopots don’t require any living soil, so straight Promix with a little EWC should do it.

I started growing using AFF, lol… Everyone was using it at the time late 70’s or early 80’s. Most people grew outside so soil wasn’t even talked about much.
The other thing here is that we have a small Walmart. We’re a small town in the middle of nowhere almost. They’ll have peat and AFF maybe, but doubt they’ll have kelp stuff. I’ll have to most likely switch to some sort of liquid nutrients. I’ve been using Roots Organics dry nutes and it’s called Terp Tea now and is all micronized so you can brew a batch for 24 hours to get PH right.
I hope I get the time to start making and using my own nutes this year. I’ve been freezing fish remains after getting the filets off of anything I catch and keep. We also have some great forests here with some cool areas to harvest local forest humus.
I have to go to Wally world today so I can look. They most likely already have the spring gardening stuff out, even though we’re still covered in snow, heh.

Man, you trip me out, ha. I hope we get to meet one day soon! I’m gonna be doing a trip down there sometime this year if all goes right. The light is working again. 4 beautiful female plants are coming along nicely. I’ll start a thread soon. Probably this week with more deep snow and single digit temps. Just say the word when you need any of this stuff back and it’s on it’s way.
