He could and should still work the autoOaxaca. Ace’s autoNL/Malawi is the best auto I’ve tried and would probably mix extremely well with the Oaxaca. It’s a worthy project and a slam dunk. And if he or someone else takes over the project in the near future, we could all be growing out auto Oaxacas next summer.
But, if he wants an auto pearl Oaxaca, then it would make sense to start with an auto that has a tendency towards that end, lock in the pearl pheno and then breed it with an Oaxaca that also has the pearl pheno locked in. That’s a multi year project, as the pearl pheno would need to be locked in on both parents before they can be crossed.
