Hello mate happy new year awesome project @santero i have been looking for Thai strain and am interested in growing it for medicinal purposes pain management i suffer from arthritis bone on bone grinding pain can you help me out with a pack of Thai cross or any other thai Tayberry (Blueberry Indica F5 x Chocolate Thai F4) - BBphenos @Magicabana
What’s chocolate rain ?
Chocolate Rain is a cross made by Eskobar. The mother of it is Chocolope (Amsterdam cut) I assume, crossed with a Cocoa Kush male from DJ Short. Chocolate Rain was released in regular and fem, whereas the fem version leaned more towards the Chocolope while the regular version had both expressions.
Same goes for the Chocolate Cheese. The regular release had more spicy/bitter chocolate expressions, while the fem version appeared more fruity rhasberry. Both crosses have quite a following for good reasons. Such as potency, taste and ease of growing. As one would expect from Esko.
All the lines of esko and sannie should come back, there were some really tasty things in there… Too bad I didn’t really understand what it was about at the time and didn’t make any extra seeds ![]()
It’s probably the best song ever! https://youtu.be/EwTZ2xpQwpA?si=QxRnVjfbGdtHGS2c
I am working now with the Chocolate rain x Soma amnesia.
Nice! That cross holds a lot of potential. Are you working with the F2s? I made a cross with the F2s as well. I pollinated two phenos of the Amnesia Haze Soma Cut x Chocolate Rain F2 with the Chocolate Cheese#3 fem pollen. i liked the few plants I grew out.
I would be very curious to hear what you are working on.
Started with 40 seeds chocolate rain x Soma amnesia. Now i have 2 selected mother plants. Next week i am taking clones for first indoor test run.
Also working with blue glue haze and th seeds mona lisa atm.
You can mark my thread if you want to follow everything.
i like the idea of that cross, thats cool
tis amnesia haze and choc rain, and a cheese choc rain, they got the same male kinda.
is there something that cross direction can be called? is that a forward cross compared to a back cross?
I got a couple tiny nugs off the Berry Nice Plants 2.0 pheno 1, this stuffs some amazing dank no doubt. good sativa type flavor super sweet kinda limey, and then I got some strange flavor i havent noticed in a really long time almost coffeeish possibly idk couple small nugs in this vaporizer. its still fresh and hard to blaze. but man it is sooo good!
my plants got some moth worms unfortunately, but they cant eat my seeds in them. lol. I got some more pics but some of it got beat up pretty bad.
Amazingly though, this BNP2.0 Pheno #1, that i tried a few small pcs from, is mostly untouched compared to the other 7 plants. Maybe the worms dont like this one. It seems like it, because its my only good plant out there right now, maybe i get a 75-80% harvest, the others are all pooped up unfortunately, its pretty gnarly.
Had some good runs but the moth worms maybe really like these sweet gassy smells just as much as me! Going to come back stronger and run this pheno again soon from clone too! Will bring some more pics and also update with more info about how much im liking this plant and these two little fresh wet nugs i just blazed! im already looking for more ahaha
pics soon of BNP Pheno 1 its going strong! the others look great too but definitely got mothworms so they wont look as nice now
update here a little on my Berry Nice Plants 2.0 , Santa Maria x Chocolate Rain bx1
Moth worm likes my candy buds

These lil tester nugs i pulled are soooo good , bnp 2.0 pheno 1
Early tester nugs Berry Nice plants 2.0 bx2 from SAN !!! Awesome
Santa Maria x Chocolate Rain cross
“BNP 2.0” is a (“SM” Bx2 F2)-type
Ill get to Try them all a little eventually, it looks like pheno 2 might be even more exciting, but pheno 1 has major bug resistance and resilience compared to everything else which is really cool !! The moth worms dont always attack i think its a rough part of the seasonal changes right now
Pheno2 plant seemingly had more candy and more sweetness and some color in it too, it looks great aside from the bug damage . luckily i can regrow that one as well now !
Flash pic
this stuff reeks, sometimes ive cut plants down and they dont carry their smell from the plant so well, but even right off the plant fresh and still earlier than it should be, this is really exciting and nice, it smells amazing, somewhat familiar but also uniquely complicated smell, lots of hints of fruitiness but overall just a sweet sativa gas so far. Kinda lime fragranced but theres more candy in it, reminds me a little of some of the other stuff im really excited about that i have! More on the sativa side and very good. this is very much in its own lane and seems possibly new to me but also familiar in some ways.
the aromatherapy is strong with this one as you would hope! pheno 2 looked like it was turning color a bit also, i have no idea how nice that plant is yet at all really. just recently now trying some of this that is dry enough to do so.
cant get too far ahead of myself here, its fresh and needs cured, but its already really enjoyable which is good sign!
it has a distinctive texture im noticing so far in this vaporizer when its fresh, idk if thats the cocoa im sensing, it will keep getting better as it dries and cures no doubt
So ive never really had or understood Santa Maria but i think i do more now, wow it is definitely amazing so far!
nice!!! Amnesia x Chocolate Rain looks and sounds amazing! thats next on my bucket list here! read a lot of good stuff about it from everyone here and it looks so good, i think i did notice some chocolatey looking phenos in everyones amazing pics. but its hard to say just looking at it and its been so long ago! i also think a lot of the time the cocoa flavor needs curing to become strong and more noticeable. Some of it might be pretty chocolate off the plant, but it was mostly after the curing, it came out , in the stuff we had a long time ago. maybe someone can tell me more about that idea but i know its special, unique, and chocolatey most of all! Stoked!!!
Thanks for the kind words. I am not sure there is a technically accurate term for such cross. I just went with Santero’s rule that crossing two Eskobar lines alwas brings fire. In the Two seeds I popped so far I found one very nice plant. I called the pheno RedWine. It had that cherry, red fruit taste with a slight sour. Additionally there was also a spicy woody taste, which I declared the old oak portwine barrel taste in the redwine.
The fruity side of the taste stays for a while on your lips as with Sour Diesel for instance. I still spill some tears for having lost her.
i also read what you said a little better i do see now its fem cocoa but still thats a cool genetic. its interesting what they may or may not do thats the fun part! i also have never heard of a forward crossing to make the male stronger maybe they just call it a backcross but its in a different direction, ive been thinking and wondering about that lately, its the same idea as a backcross, making the female plant stronger, or yeah forward cross if im makin stuff up for the male hahaha.
i agree anything like that, pairing 2 esko plants, sounds awesome, crossing two keepers like that. those flavors sound awesome and it does sound like it turned into something a lil different than u might expect! maybe can be remade or find a new pheno again, thats kinda how i find myself here (big thanks to SAN and ZAN), searching for these old relics or fun stuff from the past!!! also things made newer and different
got some nice looking beans in the sour diesel cross here it got open pollinated but i definitely know what the males were so it should be noticeable in the plants ( 2 different )
well, it is a “chocolate rain hybrid” …
but only if the chocolate cheese was the fem version ![]()
because:
regular chocolate cheese = cheese x cocoa kush
and the fem version = cheese x chocoate rain F4
__
esko also made a reg cheese x chocolate rain,
but no one has those (almost … hehehe
)
hmm yeah this makes sense to me , it also makes it even more interesting haha. i dont know genetic sequences necessarily down to what could or should happen, but that is definitely going to make some cool stuff , be really stoked to see what that does! i know the cocoa cheese a little and that fem plant must be awesome too
idk if theres a specific name for the amnesia haze x chocolate rain, or the cross you made there. thats definitely cool. Haze Rain sounds cool it just doesnt have anything to tell you it has the chocolate flavors in the name. Chocolate Haze Rain haha. im not naming stuff myself, but it sounds like those would be extraoardinary chocolate plants!
not sure what im sensing so far in what im blazing but its really sweet and then possibly bitter like dark chocolate bitter maybe , its got a unique texture hard to describe! still super fresh but enjoyable for now already, i dont taste choco necessarily but maybe im sensing it haha, excited to see what it does after it cures and i grow it better and all that too, but its definitely in the realm of unique and exciting 4 me and great
i still have the plant up ill take a pic of it , its the only one that looks amazing still, the rest of em got ate up pretty good
In a swarm of moth worms BNP pheno #1 remains an outdoor champion, tolerating the rain, tropical sun, bugs and humidity, and even the damn worms somehow so luckily i should get a lot from it too
SAN BNP 2.0 PHENO 1
[grid]
It almost seems like it might be resistant to them somehow , possibly
Stoked this one is showing off, they all look good but no worms is crazy lucky for right now
Will add more pics later a bit, got some phone and lighting issues
@santero you are so on point! It was the fem. version of Chocolate Cheese. I never had the regular version of Chocolate Cheese.
I am looking forward to the Santa Maria exo plank hybrid I got from you as Berry Patch.
I had a pretty interesting selection when I grew Santeros Double Cocoa, which is Blueberry Sativa/Cocoa Kush fem x Candy Berry (Buddha’s Sister x Cocoa Kush). There was a bit of a range of phenotypes, but most of them really interesting for their own traits. One of them was the best representation of Blueberry terps I had so far.
It’s also referred to as rhasberry haze. Although for me it’s not a haze.
Good luck fighting the worms. Don’t let them get your Very Nice Plants.
@dankisdope
ha, you can see the zigzag-stem from the clone only in those dry buds ![]()
i am getting closer and closer to the clone only in seedform, next stage will
be bx3. then i get into that one to stabilize until bx3 f3 or so, THEN it is done.
the ‘dark bitter chocolate wrap’ comes from the chocolate rain and is
a favorable addition to the overall amazing terp-profile → nice bonus.
@Papalag ,s Cap Junkyx Chukys bride

Beautiful smell of Citronella and …wee bit Diesel fragrance from the chicas.
