What I do
Water sits out 2 -3 days, but not PH’d or nothing added to it.
I use my Texas Vegetable Food all of veg and for Mothers, cuts
Run the veg food 1st two weeks into flower.
Start of week 3 flower I switch to the straight 10/30/20 Jacks. Runn it weeks 3/4
Start of week 5 i mix 50/50 Jacks 10 30 20 and the 5 12 26. Use it weeks 5/6/7
Start of week 8 till the harvest, straight 5 12 26.
I use NO MPK, no additives, no salts, mag, nor calcium. AGAIN, I use tap water.
Thanks for that my homie! I’m throwing out all my bloom boosters and going with Jetdro’s KISS method. Sometimes we overthink nutes and need to be dick slapped back to reality. I appreciate you my friend.
Great looking plants and great outlook on life oleskool
Thank you kindly for the compliment. I appreciate it very much @Stonedmason. I’m just an old hippie that found my happy place here on OG. Stop by the Shitkicker Shed any time.
Peace…
Jungle Spice on left got new shoes today. On the right is the Heri, Doc/C99, Blueberry crew just waiting for 12/12 tent space.
What a nice day it was! Have a good Monday!
Chilluns got recharge on Sunday. Monday was a LITFA day.
Opened tent for feeding today and my jaw dropped! Plants looked bigger, more lush, and remarkable color. LITFA and Recharge. Both excellent products. Noticeable improvement overnight. Impressive.
I want to get some strip lighting in this tent. Although my DIY
Blurple + 4 chandeliers seems to be doing the trick. I need a small pile of cash to do my upgrades. The other flower tent is 600 Watt hps. I don’t know if it’s lighting or environment or feed but last 2 runs took an extraordinarily long time to finish. My Crater Lakes are in week 9 and not near finished.
Any thoughts from the Fam?
Blessings …
Maybe the cold… ? I had the same problem but I have colder temps than you. I’m seeing a lower yield, too, but I think maybe I just left them in the pots too long in veg but the took a long time and most are sort of leafy. Could be my strains, too. Some look bout right.
That’s pretty cool about the Whole Foods. Hippy towns always started the coolest shit first! That 70’s look in front of the Safer-Way sign tells the story! I kew that look well, heh.
They named it Safer-Way as a swipe at Safeway grocery stores.
And the two founders actually lived in the first store. They used a hose to shower with.
One of the best Horatio Alger type stories ever!
Ahh, that makes sense. It makes the story complete. Cool stuff.
I have a thought for you brother!
I am wondering what your ambient temperature is in that room at the floor level?
I also grow a lot of pot in containers and am privy to the fact that the plants can take much cooler temps at the canopy level and retain growth vigor IF they’re able to keep their roots warm.
Putting your hand against the container, it should not feel less than 65°F. Medium that is too cool will not only have a stunting effect on the plant, but can also interfere with nutrient uptake, rendering some nutrients unavailable to the plant.
Wake n baking by myself today w/Pink Floyd and OverGrow… and it’s a beautiful sunny warm day here in the desert and I’m enjoying it!
Shine On OG!
Is this osb plywood a table top or your floor?
If it’s the floor do.you have a dead airspace of a couple inches or more?
You don’t ever want to set plants on a floor during the winter, put your finger in the medium, does it feel cold?
Ambient air temp is the temp from inside the room it will differ from the floor.
So anything sitting on a table top should be the temp in that room.
You can have a bit cooler ambient temp but if their tootsies get cold it’s bad news.
I’ve spent a few years to refine how I do things in the fall thru spring because it’s the only time I do anything.
Summers a bitch brings about bugs and mold.
Its fishing time and not being locked down time to a bunch of dames.
I like to use lights at night for the Xtra heat also.
Hope this helps a bit, also invest in some heat mats.
@GMan after you get dialed in for winter youll be back on track.
I never considered that. Could be something in the universe that is kinked up!
Austin was a wonderful place to be in the 70s. That picture makes me smile!
Nutn’ but love…
It is indeed. They had barrels of dried beans and brown rice scattered about and the best bread I’ve ever had. Lots of Dr. Brauners Castile soap etc. ahhh memories! I’m so proud to be an old Austin Hippie.
Nutn’ but love brother…
My shed has no a/c but I do have heat. So, it depends on the temps outside. The Shed is insulated, to a degree. During the frequent “cold snaps” that we have it can get down to 45 degrees inside the tents. I’m thinking if I can get the pots elevated off the floor it might help.
So, as you see it’s anything but a “controlled environment.”
I appreciate your response greatly! Any ideas are welcome. Seems as though what were 8 week finishers are now 10.
Peace…
Actually, I believe that was a big part of my problem. I’ll be coming up with a solution for the next grow. I ended up with double the females I had planned on. They kept me busy.
Thank you @OleReynard. I think you’re right on point and you’re also right 3 of 4 tents, the plants are on the floor. I also thought about warming the feed solution a bit but am apprehensive about that. I’ll figure out how to elevate the girls right away.
What were you going to say about ambient temps at floor level?
Thanks my friend. I greatly appreciate you and admire your work.
