Yeah, and if you can, add some microbe inoculant and a little molasses to it first, and let it ferment for a week or two, it really becomes powerful. The microbes will break the nutrients all down making it immediately available to your plants.
@Sebring used EM-1 product the last time he did the comfrey and horsetail weed tea. I’m gonna pick some of that up and begin to start some fermenting projects. So many things right in our yards are useful for making fertilizers.
I don’t know about Comfrey seeds, but it seems like most just get a root cutting from somebody else’s plant and they flourish easily. He sent out some cuttings out a while back. I’ll be able to send some root cuttings out once mine get better established.
Ohh yay CBD autos are back in stock! Does anyone know which type is the most CBD-y?? I’m looking for more CBD little/no THC.
That farm looks so cool. Due to the way we’ve handled legalization in Canada you don’t really see setups like that, it’s all giant companies. Hopefully that will change some time I’d love to see more operations that actually give a shit about the plant and what can be done with it.
Here’s whats going in my tea. And some molasses and a handful of soil from my tomatoes that has gotten DTE biolive as part of the soil mix. It has some innoculants in it- unfortunately I’m out so I’ll just have to take some soil for the tea.
Gonna brew 1 bucket for a few days and keep replenishing new batches every few days, then let the second bucket brew a lot longer til it breaks down. I’m also going to look into getting some Comfrey so I can start it growing for next year.
Awesome, thanks. I read the descriptions (duh) and they all sound really nice. I notice all the autos except the revenge are listed as 80 days, are they generally bigger plants than the revenge?
Its a really cool thing that you’re doing with your site by the way, I’m sure you realize how much $ you could be making off these beans. Its nice to see some people in the industry who aren’t purely motivated by profit!
PS. Imo from leaving moist mostly cooked rice under a layer of moldy leaves\branches and lactobacillus from leaving the water you rinsed the rice in, left out, then used to curdle low\no fat milk. Use the clear part (whey) and do whatever you want with the solids at the bottom.
Or, use em1… Or all 3.
Ahh, sorry, I was going off of the generic description. Sorry, my bad.
I’ve been wanting to try the lacto acid thing. Somebody here turned me onto that a long time ago but I never got to it… It was likely you. I’m loving the homemade ferts knowledge. I’m slowly working on my carbon footprint so every little thing helps.
It’ll be nice to not have my nutes come to me plastic bags and bottles some day and not have all of the fuel/energy used to make and transport it all.
As Oleskool would say, onward though the fog, bro. I’m trying to keep up! Thanks for all of the hard work and dedication. peace
Yeah, I shared lots of mine and I still have 3 that are in pots and looking great. They seem to like the partial shade where I live. The sun is too much here at this elevation. They’re happy now.
So lacto- I have some sourdough yeast starter in my fridge. When it goes dormant, the clear hooch that rises to the top I think is lactobacillus. Any idea if the hooch would be good to add to tea? I need to pick up some books on this so I’m not asking questions everyday about it…
I’m not sure that’s lacto. It’s probably just dilute vinegar, a byproduct of yeast eating sugars, mixed with excess water. It would be closer to kombucha starter.
Damn, I looked this morning and my three Maui Sunshine females are now 2 males, and maybe all 3… heh. It makes sense now. I thought they were males as soon as they went the second node. The speed and vigor at which they started with was a tale tale sign. Maybe I’ll get lucky with the one, but I think they’re all dudes. Big beautiful dudes, but dudes. I’ll put a pic or two up soon. Nice strong plants though. Very pretty and healthy. I can’t wait to get s good female that’ll grow like these!
I may jump back on the horse today and replace those with 3 new tries! I just have to taste this beast! It would be fun to get to the f2s to really search for the gems in the gene lottery!
They’re definitely the strongest of them all I believe. They were like that as soon as they popped. Maybe I get lucky and the last one will turn out female.
I have an Uzbekistan going with 1 male, 1 fem. The male looks like a real pretty female with the perfect structure… the female looks like a tall lanky male, lol. It’s sort of funny to me.
Yipee!! I gots me a Maui Sunshine female! I didn’t spot it this morning… at 5:45 am, duh.
It’s crazy. All three were the same height yesterday morning and now both males are 4 inches taller and since this morning… unless I wasn’t looking good, the female just shot her pre flower pistils, so it’s official. Very stoked! Plus I can do some f2s for the hell of it.
Sorry for the droopy look. They were thirsty again this morning. I water them twice daily because it’s so dry. They usually stand up straight and pray a lot, heh. They’re really nice plants though. Now, my plan continues…get the girl into a larger pot today and carry on. So far every cross on this late run has a male and female for each one.
Its been raining here so haven’t been able to use any tea yet and ive hardly been home- been travelling for work. But stopped in today, here’s what it looks like:
It stinks to holy Hell! The kale leaves have started to break down, a lot. More like slime w some attached but most detached from the stem. What do y’all think?
