Second autoflower grow

I recently came across og still trying to wrap my head around it. Im currently growing in a spider farmer 2x4 tent, sf2000 led, 24/0 light schedule, bonnie and Clyde nutrients including calmag and bud booster,in sunshine mix no 4. First frow was two carbonated cherry by aeque genetics. I ended up with 7oz of decent bud. My new grow is 24k by mylogrows, double grape by mylogrows, and lilac diesel from aeque genetics. The lilac is a few weeks behind because the other seed failed and i had to go out to work. Anyways any tips on set up or nutrients?

Running on a 19/5 or 18/6 gives the auto a little time to recover each day as well as once the plants hit its DLI (daily Lighter integral) for the day it can use a break.

Sounds like you have some fire you going to be working with. Also welcome to Overgrow!!

A word of caution. Bro science has proven to be ineffective when it come to autos. Which has been proven many times. Despite what many have been lead to believe, there is a lot more to growing cannabis that just dropping seeds into whatever grow media and placing a light above it. I’d that’s all it took, everyone would have awesome bud instead of just the few. The worst of all, the plants that appear to be great, are usually the worst smoking plants. We have saying she is ugly but she is fine. However in the case of plants, they can be pretty af, but smell and smoke like :poop:. IMO . It may be better to get your grow advice from someone who isn’t producing 1 out of 1000 plants and even then. That miracle baby, never produces progeny that would be considered an upgrade when compared to the parents. Jmo

Thanks for the welcome. I run a tent in my basement and use the light as a constant heat source. Ive thought about switching to give some dark to the plants but with me being gone for work for weeks at a time i need the easiest set up possible for my partner. I keep track of the dli for a 24hr interval, vpd, ppfd with an app on my phone. I really screwed up my first grow by delaying nutrients and basically not knowing what im doing but it all still turned into decent bud which gets better as it cures in the jars.

Honestly im just trying to understand and learn how to grow and eventually breed my own plants. As long as its a decent smoke im good. So is this more of a breeders/genetics focused website? I do plan on buying a second tent for photos or to grow a plant for seeds. I figured its legal so fuck it and i like to deep dive into hobbies. But yea might not be comparable my two plants to someones thousand but knowledge is knowledge.

Good thinking bro. All I’m saying is that one man’s advise, may not be applicable to another man’s grow. Due to having different crosses. Just because something tastes like the banana yogurt supreme, that you are looking for doesn’t means it’s the same cross that Tom may be giving out advice on. Then there is different setup, and different local atmosphere, all of which all matters. Im not saying that the basics don’t work, however that is about as deep as I will go when considering the advice of others. Especially when it isn’t based on repeatable science. Besides to fully advance your grow, it’s going to take what you already said >>> Knowledge. …and plenty of it. Thinking for yourself is the name of the game. I don’t know about you, however when I see a group walking in circles, I tend to step back and ask myself, “is that what I want to be doing for the next 20 year, and not have a decent plant to show for it. To each his own.

@Yvrmech, I jumped into this hobby 4 yrs ago and have been and am all over the place for nutrient types and styles. I’m still learning which I method I enjoy more while improving on my grow. Started with a 4x2 and now have 4 tents and a greenhouse.

Its a great forum and an immense amount of information for people just starting out to true professionals in the cannaverse but in the end we all just enjoy working with the plant. This site is for hobbiest and breeders and just the curious passionate. Keep the grow journal going and people will show up

Im too late for a grow journal this time but my next grow ill be trying a dwc bucket and a plant thats supposed to get up to 6 feet tall. This grow im dipping my toes into lst clips. Im excited to learn from here. I read a lot through grow weed easy then moved to reddit but i found reddit could be very negative. Ill be adding a 4x4x7 tent in the next month or two but that will be photos, lettuce, and my attempt to bonsai grapes.

Very cool! Glad you are here…Definitely a great place to grow. Look forward to your updates especially 4x4x7💯

If you do not like advice or input from others why are you posting this?

You misunderstood brother. I said all advice may not be suitable for all occasions. And that he should find what works for him.

imo auto’s will make you a better grower in general as you cant just delay flower to fix a screw up you have to read the plant if decent genetics flowers are coming in 30 to 40 days ready or not i light feed 50% strength in veg and raise it to 75% when i see flower and when i see my first cloudy tri combs i stop feeding only water let it fade for instance if its a 8 week plant i usually stop around week 6ish 18 and 6 is a good light cycle

I like the learning curve involved with it all. I debated auto over photo but with me working very far away i figured the easiest set up would be autos. From what i gather my nutrients are not too strong after the second feeding i use full strength. The 24k has handled everything ive thrown at it. Double grape isnt doing as well but definitely chugging along. My last grow was two plants one flushed the other no flush and i never noticed a difference in the smoke. Do you really need to flush your plant?

You are right, in many occasions a grower can’t tell the difference between a flushed plant and one that isn’t flushed. That’s where experience comes to play because there are many factors affecting the taste of the final product.
Take for example, both plants burned your throat while smoking. Or both had you coughing all over the place. Because many consider that the norm and have grown accustomed to smoking “earthy” bud, and consider smoother smoking cannabis ineffective.
Often over looking the facts that the smoother smoking plant had to be put out and finished later. Yet still complain about the smooth smoke not being effective enough for them.
Flush or not, is a personal preference. And enjoy your buds as you do.

The only thing I would advise on is nutrient amounts. I am on my 4th grow with autos and have finally gotten away from following instructions on labels. My reasoning is everything i read by modern standards states autos do not need the amount of fertilizers that photos need, and most instruction on feeding charts are for photos. I now only use half doses at the first 2 feedings, then increase afterwards. Since I use LOS I don’t feed for the first 4-5 weeks. Afterwards they get it to schedule, just lesser amounts than rec. I always feed my microbes like 2-3 time weekly, keep them happy the plants stay healthy. I will feed my girls to schedule then stop feeding a week or so just before I believe they will be harvested. I continue feeding microbes though with teas until harvest. Just watch the nutrients, cut them down by 1/3 at least. If you find they can take more, go right ahead, just monitor the leaf tips close and first sign of burn, cut back the nutrients.

Hello again just an update on my small grow.
Week 9 since sprout for 24k and double grape by mylogrows. Week unknown for lilac diesel by aeque genetics. 24k has a more even canopy than double grape but overall im happy with it. You may notice tip burn well this is what i get for working shift work far away from home. My wife and her mom are looking after the plants the former having a baby to take care of and the latter being a moron they are doing the best they can. Another note would be the messy tent rest assured it has been cleaned up. So my questions to you are who here uses molasses during flower? How much do you use per gallon of water? In my situation is it really beneficial to use molasses or should i use another product? Currently i am using bonnie and Clyde nutrients calmag and bud booster by cronk nutrients.

But yea im enjoying overgrow lots of interesting topics here.
