Seed Run Co-Op Bodhi F2 Jungle Spice - Give Away Has Ended

65??!? I thought we were cold keeping our house at 68 in Canada. Do you find your plants are a bit slower during these colder, dry months?

I definitely do, mine get slower and eat less as well. Either way those ladies are real close, I’m sure they’ll ripen any day now for ya.

Yea, definitely a little slower. They love my summer basement.

Ya it’s ironic, I spent my whole growing life fighting high temps now I look forward to summer temps lol

Did a heavy defoliation for canopy management today. For the last 1-2 weeks, I want to make sure enough light is getting down into the lower parts of the plants. I want those seeds to develop!

Black Domina

This plant is leafy, but an incredible beast. The main cola on this thing is fucking huge. I can’t wait to trim the plant down so we can all get a good look at it. If the right pheno is found from this hybrid, it should be ridiculous.

JS Closeups

The first photo here is the squatty pheno that I haven’t observed before. Really amazing frost output, extending all the way down the stems of fan leaves and halfway down the leaf margins. A bit of speculation, but it seems like this pheno might lean toward the G13/HP side of the hybrid. I guess that would probably mean that the Congolese is more dominant in the cross. At least in my pack it was <20% occurrence.

DC x JS seeds

I tried to open up the lower canopy on the deep chunk. This plant is so incredibly dense that the lower interior was practically white from chlorosis. I chopped out a single popcorn bud and squeezed out about 30 seeds from it. They’re not quite as dark as I like them to be, but most still seem viable to me.

Notes

I’m going to try and keep the seeds somewhat separate and provide a legend with some notes about the mothers.

That domina…mother of God :fearful:

It’s an amazing plant. The colas are quite large. Even the side colas are almost as big as my quart sized bottle of pH down. :joy: And you can see how much bigger the main is than the sides from the previous picture.

The stems are super tough as well. They are built to support some weight. I pinched one and it felt like a rock. The leaf/calyx ratio might make it a little hard to trim, but a good pheno from the JS could make the hybrid from this plant quite nice to grow. Perhaps I’ll look through the seed population and take it to 3rd generation someday.

Thank you for growing these out and keeping these genetics alive!

Hey, LHS, you may want to lock your bedroom door with that Black Domina in the house… whoa.

Well I reduced the lighting intensity down to about ~35k lux in the canopy… I want these plants to get the hint. Today is the 80th day of flower! Still some green seeds, but I might pop off a smaller bud from each of the plants and see how we’re doing up in there.

I’ve never pollinated plants as heavily as these, so it’s interesting. I can only imagine what the nutrient demands for baseball sized flowers, totally saturated with seeds must be like…

I snipped off a little popcorn bud from one of the more developed JS plants (JS #6). Most of the seeds were developed ~15/19 = 79%. I think I’ll let it run for another week, 2 at most and start harvesting seeds.

In the meantime, I’m going to chop the deep chunk DC x JS and start drying it. It definitely has more mature seeds ready to go, also finishing earlier cuz pure indica.

Dang, she is one fertile girl! If that’s the popcorn bud.

They’re looking good and healthy. Geting very close! Best vibes!

Oh yea, I covered every nook on every plant with pollen. I had the males on the left near the fan, and let them blow pollen all downstream to the females. :joy:

We’ll have no shortage of seeds! Might even have enough for everyone to get a 5-10pk from each mother, complete with descriptions. Not going to promise that just yet though. We’ll see how many seeds each of these turn out.

The F2s should be pretty exciting… I’m excited to pheno hunt for something that leans heavily on the sativa/Congolese side.

You really know how to get a guy excited in the morning! I think I just drooled a little… heh peace

Wait, all those came off that one little nug? That is one prolific plant there …fine looking seeds too!

Haha yup. In that one little nug, I now have more Jungle Spice seeds in my possession than I started with.

Yeah, it’s not hard at all to get 2-3000 seeds off of a plant if your are trying for it. I got 2200 off of the one I did this last summer. It wasn’t the largest plant in the world. And it was outside. Those suckers want to reproduce, lol. It’s one hardy plant. I think it’s one of the reason cannabis is so fun to grow for so many. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking! peace

Deep Chunk F12 x JS

…Many hours later

Well here’s the deep chunk. After picking and sorting though all the buds, came up with a bunch of seeds. I’m drying them now. Looks like there are a lot that are underdeveloped, but probably still plenty to go around.

This one easily had the fewest seeds. I’ve got my work cut out for me! :sob:

Wow. I’d be snacking on the unusable ones while I sorted, good protein!

Is the deep chunk and jungle spice cross available also?
