Maybe you should open a new thread to collect stuffs to distribute the BAV repros? Like stamps, envelopes, donations and such? The cost should not rest on the BAV members shoulders. Pretty sure there’s quite some people ready to help with that. I’m sure it’s also possible to contact the coop group to agree on something meanwhile.
I just pitched this idea to the BAV group members also. Glad we think alike Growmie!!!
Good mindset @funkyfunk .
A variation of this was discussed amongst the group but as you well know we’re all doing a bunch of things at once and would have hammered out the details at some point. lol.
One variation is distribution as not all BAV folk are in
. Im in
so getting stamps has to be from canada or they don’t work on my side of the imaginary line lol.
Though were this is a will there is a way and we all know us
growers are crafty as fuck and stubborn to some degree or we’d never consider doing this in the first place. ![]()
Sorry about my earlier remark folks, I must admit, I got a bit offended. The only thing requested was that the grower spend 2 min posting what they are going to grow and information on the strain. This is an incredibly small thing to have to do to get access to a world wide distribution network of volunteers who will than package and distribute seeds for you. The action group has gone through a ton of effort creating this process and doing the actual work of distribution and it feels like a very small ask. Yet, I see lots of push back and I just don’t get it. Folks are willing to go through all the work of doing a run and producing seeds but making one post in the voting thread prior to the grow is somehow too much to ask by the group who is going to do a bunch of work on packaging and distribution.
The co-op is set up the way it is for a reason. All co-op runs have the strain info here for all to easily find in this thread. Then co-op runs are all done in the co-op section which also keeps things organized and keeps all co-op efforts easily found in one area. This is also a plus.
As for this run being talked about, it was only brought up as a co-op yesterday. In the first few posts in it’s journal it was said that seeds would have special pucks and cards made and would be sent to @misterbee for distribution. Then all of a sudden, it was tossed up in the voting thread. This is just not how we do things. Regardless, I did bring the question to the action group as I said I would. I offered to send them out as extras with the Canadian co-op boxes and also to send then out in giveaways. Both just to help get these seeds out as requested. So if we didn’t allow them in the co-op due to not following the process, at least the grower would have other avenues they could use. Then, going forward, all I asked is that growers follow the process that is laid out. I have a hard time believing any of these strains would get rejected. After all, they came directly from Bodhi with his blessings to reproduce them. So it seems like a no brainer. Even so, I feel it should still follow the same process as every other run. I don’t personally feel it’s much to ask at all but again, this is just my opinion and I only speak for me.
Once the action group has a chance to discuss this, we will let everyone know. Now that I am home from a very long day at work, I am going to smoke a joint and decompress. Have a good night everyone. ![]()
All the action group requires is one post here with strain info before a grow like every other grower has to do. It’s a 2 minute job that keeps all growers doing the exact same thing. If you would all rather go through the process of collecting all the things needed and doing the work of distribution rather than make the one requested post then I guess it’s a way to go.
It ain’t that serious everyone needs to chill
Definitely agree with you @DougDawson. Was just suggesting that because this black sheep @Pigeonman was saying that BAV was going to do so many repro that it may be too much for the coop group.
And in any case it’s understandable to be pissed off when processes get overlooked. Specially on a long day. You got much deserved respect from everyone for all you do here.
Enjoy that joint mate!
Lol. Well we all know Bohdi was so kind that we have a good amount of work infront of us! lol
That’s hard to say. According to @Hemlock , some want to do runs as co-op’s and others do not. So it will depend on the grower for each run and the group I suppose. I also highly doubt all these runs will be done instantly. From what I understand there were 20 packs, that’s a ton of good growers to find and to have give up their space and time for all those runs all at once. I get the feeling they will be spread out some over time. The joint was great bud, thanks. Pancakz, yum.
There is and I would bet it will take some time to get all the good growers needed to get through them all. Sure, if all of a sudden you got 10 growers doing a repro at once it would be more than the action group could take on in one box but spread out over time, as I imagine the grows will be, I don’t see it being an issue.
@DougDawson ![]()
maybe some extra funding for expenses and some graditude towards distribution would go a long way
I would imagine ![]()
I really feel almost all involved in the co-op’s are grateful and they do express that. As for extra funding, while I appreciate the thought, it’s not necessary. The co-op is meant to be cash neutral and enough is collected to cover the costs of the supplies. My goal with every box is to break even and nothing more. But I appreciate the kind thoughts @drgreensleeves ![]()
It might be a reasonable idea if the BAV set up something like the Freakers.
The Freakers had their ideas on how they wanted to run their preservations so they (the core) argued them all out and published. They handle their own distribution and donate surpluses through the Co-op channel.
I’d suggest to the BAV group to look at that setup and see if it might be beneficial for their goals.
Personally I’d probably go Co-op.
Cheers
G
Just gotta add:
The sheer fact we are all activly talking about this makes me so fu king proud to be an Overgrower of several co-op runs, contibuting member and patticipant in both BAV and Freakers.
The work happening on here is so real regardless of it being a social mexia platform floating amongst all those 1’s and 0’s.
I have made many trve frienda here and have many now in person as OG is S.ontario STRONG so we’re all within’ driving distance!
I have also lost friends due to fuck cancer… and the fact that i will never forget them and think about them often means to me those friendships, as short as they may have been, we also real even though we never saw each others face.
Everyone keep up with the motto of two kids in 1989 as they traveled through time to pass a history presentation:
“Be excellent to each other!”
And since we know George Carlin supported this we know its the tight thing to do at all times… u less the fucker deaerves otherwise where we go back to those 7 forbodden words.

My $.02 as a relative newcomer to Overgrow: I want to make seeds for the community but have no idea where to go to start, lol. Is there anywhere that explains all the different ways that a home grower could contribute seeds to the membership base, and then links to the associated rules/guidelines for each methodology?
this should help @low_and_slow
Co-op in a nutshell:
1: Have seeds you wanna reproduce for a co-op run? Post them here in the voting thread with as much info as you can.
2: If the vote is a yes; then start a thread documenting the grow so everyone can follow along.
3: at the time of flip, you contact someone from “Team Overgrow” and they’ll set up the sign-up spots for TL2 & TL3 members.
4: when done, seeds get sent to your countries distributor who then gets the portions required out to the other distributors.
5: bask in the glory that you’ve just made the world a better place for at least 150 people.
Alternatives:
Post seeds in the “Free Seeds, Free Clones” thread(s):
Reach out to @DougDawson who gives away 365 flips a year; he’ll include your seeds in his daily give away.
Best of success @low_and_slow !
Thanks @Pigeonman, that makes a ton of sense in terms of the Co-op and its purpose of preserving rare packs!
More generally, is there anywhere that serves as sort of an overall list of other ways that seeds get exchanged through the membership base? Y’all mentioned the “Freaker’s ball” thread which has its own thing going on, and then the BAV (not sure what that is), and then I know the trading post has a ton of sort of private 1:1 threads going on…is there a sticky somewhere that sorta maps out all the paths seeds can take throughout the OG community, which can be pushed through the official distro network, and which kinds of grows/seeds would be best for just personal sharing? Or like, a rubric for how to know if a strain is a fit for the co-op, or some other method of distribution based on rarity, current availability, homemadeness, etc.?
Freakers Ball = A group dedicated to preserving landrace strains
Bohdi Apocalyse Vault (BAV) = A group dedicated to preserving Bohdi’s genetics, with his blessing and participation.
Not that I’m aware of.
This can ONLY happen via the voting thread as mentioned via Co-op. Freakers overflow ends up in the boxes and was discussed by those in charge with the distributors before it all happened. BAV, we’re still working on how to distribute as you may have noticed with the coversation going on the last few days in this very thread.
Rare and important genetics are usually where it’s at. If it’s available commerically it’s prob a no go. As an example my last Co-op was a Bohdi strain F2’d from a limited release of 32 packs. This was Yogi. When I saw how rare those seeds were I proposed a co-op run and now there’s a fuck tonne of Yogi available for the good people to grow.
I make my own gear from Landraces and am just getting my business started really and have not the funds yet for my “sponsorship” (yet) so not sells but I send out gear to folks willing to post photos and their experience with my gear as a form of “grassroots” and I do it at all my expense and personal time and packing and all address and correspondence is done in PM platform that’s really all the “requirements” of the forum that I’m aware of if I’m missing anything please let me know my friends much love and respect ![]()
I’d like to give back to the community by offering to do an f2 fem reverse run of Archive Genetics Permanent Marker cut sometime in spring finishing for the next fall box. Is there any interest in this kind of genetics? It’s not as rare as the bodhi stuff
This exquisite strain was crafted by Seed Junky Genetics and handpicked by Doja Pak. Permanent Marker unites the exceptional profiles of Biscotti and Jealousy with a Sherbert backcross (Sherb BX), culminating in a multi-layered genetic masterpiece.
