I was sent these seeds from Seeds mafia from another forum as they are “vendors” for the particular place. Won’t go into it but I never received confirmation or when they would arrive if they were. Got em a few days ago. Bout a month after registration. Lol.
So. I will keep to my word and start a diary of these demons and see what they’re all about. I literally just finished cleaning the closet where I flower yesterday. So. Here we go: 45 day life cycle 4 weeks flower. ?
Seeds:
Mafia skunk turbo feminized.
Sacitrus bomb turbo feminized.
I been looking for some skunk but haven’t pulled the trigger and if I’m being honest I don’t know anything about these fast strains except they have 20% ruderalis. I thought they mixed the ruderalis with autos and this shows how little I know about this turbo type of seed. I recently asked a friend whose dad, and a collective of dads in my area, bought skunk #1 from high times magazine like 20 years ago for some seeds because even 20 years later this skunk #1 is some of the most solid herb I’ve smoked. So skunk was my choice here because it felt a little nostalgic and I don’t know the last time I was given the option of a "skunk " in the strain I choose. Let’s get real. It’s gone. The seeds my friends dad still continue to grow with will not be shared or purchased but he will smoke you stupid anytime you want. Lol. Old timers won’t change and I don’t expect them to but if this is a nice skunk and something stable I will keep cuts so let’s see how I’ll do em.
Germination: same way I’ve been doing it since I popped my first and Its water. Im gonna chop two 16.9 oz bottles in half and fill with distilled drinking water. Half in one. Half in the other. I’ll keep the bottles close to a seed mat among the clones in my closet. We actually just got snow last night in Illinois so I’ll stick the mat in there to maintain even temps at night as well.
Media. Now this is undecided so far. I have always been a dwc guy. Single bucket. But I don’t like more than 2 in this space. It’s unnecessary. So I will either slightly mimic my last grow ( 3 gal fabric pots with FF ocean forest soil) with all plants or just run 2 in 5 gal dwc with 2 plants. I think they want me to use all the plants but I am no longer with that forum so I don’t plan on taking any prize and do not want one. So I will do this the way I want and they should be happy I’m even responding when they didn’t do me the same courtesy.
Space and light: 26" width x 48" length x up to 6’ height. Lights are a diy cob build I made ages ago. (3) Vero 29 gen 7. Mixed spectrum with 1 being 4500k and the others are 3500k and I’m putting in the 30$ kingled I found on eBay. Claims a 600w true. Not true. It’s 80watts maybe. That I stuck a PC fan on because well…it shouldn’t be that hot. I mean. Lol. Either way I will add more but for now I’ll just run the king led that’s located in the middle of all the cobs and gradually turn on the other and then undim gradually.
The claim. Turbo seeds claim to be the fastest on the market surpassing the competitors. Life cycle of 45 days. 4 week flower time. So are they autos? If they die after 45 days it’s not a photo plant? I’m confused.As I have no experience with these I will document all findings and the reason I am leaning towards my last soil grow is because I have documented it thoroughly and the only thing that has changed is genetics and my attention to detail. My bike is the smoke is gnarly AF and they grow like “normal” weed plants while being turbo fast. after reading the 45 day life cycle I am going to conclude that I won’t be getting cuts to preserve.
