If your exhausting your air then there is next to nill benefit apart from your pockets being lighter of cash.

Also just a comment of 18 threads in the last 9days, there is a search function for most of these questions where it’s been discussed before otherwise thread away.

Personally I think co2 is the very last thing a grower can add to improve his yield.

Once environment and diet is totally dialed in and you can’t squeeze any extra grams from your plants then add co2 to your grow.

Also, these bags won’t bring your co2 ppm high enough or rather proper air exchange will achieve about the same levels of co2 rendering them pretty much useless…

I myself have always had very good grows healthy and average yields happy go lucky
but Iately I have been plasted with these c02 ad’s and I had to come ask the experts as I find some Info here but it’s not the same as asking reading true hands on experience and thats why I come here to ask read enjoy others Input, Answers and Inspiratioins hearing of their uses and non uses ,

Waste of money, I tried them before doing much research many years ago… no difference except in my wallet, lol

I bought an exhale bag… it did provide co2. I have a co2 monitor and could see it raise co2 from 406ppm to 700 to 800ppm. My exhaust fan is controlled via temp and rh and programming in home assistant so my tent wasn’t always venting…

That being said, it’s lost a lot of oomph in the past few months, first month slow rise in ppm, 2nd, 3rd and 4th month nice 700 to 800ppms. Now back to high 400s, 6 months later. Produces for 9 to 12 months? Maybe but barely… 3 to 4 months is what I would call it. I literally have my co2 sensor on the vent patch to get the high 400s readings now…

Will I replace it? Nope… didn’t notice much difference in growth. To take advantage of high co2, one needs high lights, most of us aren’t pushing THAT high…

I put three in at flower in 5 x 8 room.
You add sugar and water as needed, you will see bubbling slowing and it looks less “alive”
It smells like beer kinda.

so 2 would work great in a 9 long x 4 wide tent 72 height

yes if you shutdown air circulation twice a day for about an hour, the concentrations are high. BOG said twice a day, its what i have done for many years, I wait til when lights have been on four hours for first shutdown, then two hours before lights out, why? no f’ing clue just do it .

Out doors I put one setup at base of every plant during flower, it makes the bugs go crazy, sends em packin.

I have my tent light on 12/12 6PM until 6AM I open my tent check the temp humidity and turn the floor 4 inch fan on with cool air so I should stop the air or fan and add bottles to tent sit for an hour , remove and at 5 am before lights go out add bottles again until light goes out another hour , remove at t am shut tent. repeat daily??

To use co2, your best off to have a sealed room and the lights are air cooled/vented separately. If your exhausting due to heat then your loosing the co2 your putting in. At best, bags are about as effective as you sitting in the tent and breathing in the plants. But it’s not constant and it has a peak output before it tapers off. Same with the 1gal co2 fermenter, not much out put, but you can see it working and refresh it when it starts to slow down.
That said, if you can spare the space for the 2 jugs like that setup, you might as well get yourself a 5gal bucket and a airlock, some starsan sanitizer solution, and a bunch of juice/concentrate to go with the sugar :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. When the yeast is done with the sugar, you have hard cider/wine (depending how much sugar you add, the abv will go up with more sugar, but the flavor won’t really be great at higher abv without some time to age it.

Funny you make that analogy… when I work in the tent, without the bag, I can raise co2 to the high 400 ppms by breathing alone. Otherwise it’s mid 400s at the moment. Can’t argue that the bag didn’t work, it did raise ppms, but for 3 months? Not long enough…

It has been said in many threads and here that it is a waste of time out doors and indoors.
“It just blows away”
“Your just making vinegar”

That’s a shame, like our free seed games it only requires a few searches to gain some comparable opinions, like >>>

  • Do growers typically boost indoor levels to between 700 and 1500 PPM?

  • Does the addition of CO2 and temperature influence the
    incidence of botrytis?

  • Does co2 affect soil quality?

Back in the day we hauled co2 into the woods in september, put giant plastic bag over our plants and blast with co2 til bag got cold. Taped bottom and hung out an hour, cut bags off and flower city, bud city, two months before normal winter finish.

I’ll bet you a bud if you try it, you’ll owe me a bud… win or lose.

No I keep them in there 24/7 from start of flower til chop.
They make your nose twitch, you’ll see what I mean.
Shutting down ventilation for 45 minutes wont hurt shit, it smells like your farts @Seamonkey84 …lol

@Nagel420 if you put one of these in you could give us an actual scientific reading instead of my usual seems to work and its what I was shown type response, some frikkin science.

Yea if you don’t add some nutrients to in for the yeast, just sugar, it’ll make some very sulfurous brews. If you have time to baby the yeast along and feed them, I’ve made wines/meads that were drinkable once they cleared and degassed. But that’s another hobby. :wine_glass:

My buddy who taught me this makes Meade since high school, we are both 60.
Meade with rice, Sulfur-Free Blackstrap Molasses and buttermilk is how we make our LAB.
