My first time growing water only was Subcool’s super soil. Works great
Im yet another that started with the subcool soil. Back when, it was the only really solid resource I could find on a well amended soil. Nowadays I just keep it super simple and use promix(ideally with coco) and amend with pride lands veg. No compost in the mix, but lots of teas!
I use fox farm hf and fish emulsions.
Can’t get any easier for me at least.
well I usually dig some soil out of the nearest forest, add some fish in it to rot then some old vegetables then let it sit in a composter for a while, and when use it plant some red clover near, does the trick for me
I wish I could grab some soil from the forest and bring it indoors without needing to deal with pests. I get annoyed when I see a few fungus gnats flying around the tent.
Fish as your main nutrient or to feed microbes, in combination with other nutrients? Fish emulsion is very acidic. What do you use to balance ph?
Nothing
I use the fish for bacteria.
I pour boiling hot water over all dirt that comes in my grow.
Broad mites are the worst
Anyway the fish emulsions builds bacteria back.
I rarely feed first time I grow with fox farm
Though I will use cha ching in flower.
I have used the same soil over many times.
When I have used a few times I use the ff
One for early flowering to that has N in it.
I use ph adjusted water as fox farm is neutral
My water is very acidic so I ph down to 6.6ish
I took soil from outside thar sat all summer and half of winter and quarantined it in a tent and immediately watered in microbe lift bmc until run off and left it to dry then planted in it and no bugs thank god.
So, new to the site and practice.
First grow: bought a bag of. Potting soil with coco coir as base. Sourced some seeds strain unknown. Picked up three 5 gallon buckets, Three peak cups, and dropped them in the dirt. As they say, learn as you grow. As I said, learn as you grow, I now have two fully mature. I believe to be sativa plants based on their growth pattern. Listen that I managed to flower but also accidentally pushed back into growth.
