Should F5 beans be stable?

I’m going to be hunting Mendo Montage F5 beans, should these give me good stable males/females?

While not a true inbred line on the textbook definition, most F5 plants should be very similar.

Yeah, what i figured is going with an F5. My chances of finding a keeper is a lot higher.

Not necessarily . F5 means that most plants will be very uniform and if the right choices weren’t made while taking it to F5 you may very well not find a keeper .

Yeah that is very well true. I should’ve specified the breeder. They’re big pond genetics mendo montage F5s.

That all depends on the breeder. If they were true to their selections with each generation they should be fairly stable. Now if all they did was randomly pollinate each generation they would have a great deal of variability in them.

Yeah that is fair. I’m hoping that the breeder make good selections. I’ll keep you guys posted on the hunt.
