Shower stall for flower room

Has anyone ever used a shower stall for a permanent grow set up?

I have this weird remodeled bathroom on the bottom floor of my house that doesn’t really get used. I’m considering using this instead of upgrading to a 4 x 4 for a flower tent.

In the middle of switching to Coco and trying to figure out drainage options for a drain to waste set up… This built-in drainage just keeps calling out to me… goes right out with the bath water … no pumps, etc.

The HVAC though…. I guess I don’t need an in-line fan in the same way I would in a tent because the air is just more open in a room like that with a shower curtain style door.

Hmm. I feel like this is too good to be true and I’m missing something. Trying to figure out this drainage has been giving me a migraine over the last 24 hours.

I have a shower that I don’t use that would be a perfect space. If I were to use it, which I won’t, I’d have to cap the water off and move the electrical.

But bonus is your bathroom likely has an exhaust fan so just a small fan pointing at the plants would be enough I’d think.

Completely forgot about that… lol good to go wow.

Now that I think about it I’d check if the exhaust goes to outside or the attic. Don’t want an attic full of moist air.

Yep. As a temporary “locker-room” for male plants oddly enough. It was clunky. I used a spare old HPS and used the bathroom exhaust fan to help pull heat out.

I set one up when I was out of tent room for about a month. Worked great. I kept the door open as much as I could during lights on, and kept the exhaust fan on during lights off with the door shut. Everyone was happy

I don’t think I’ll do it again unless I absolutely need to but it worked in a pinch

This is right up my alley!

Just make sure your light is IP68 compliant and connected to a GFCI and you can water with the lights on.

Excellent place for DTW coco. Might want to put a filter of some kind over the drain so little particles that drain out don’t clog your plumbing eventually.
For fans, just a small fan moving a bit of air does the trick, even a little cheap 10 or 20 dollar fan.

Ya I did until my girl got annoyed because she liked that shower better lmao .

I did temporarily. After about a week my bathroom exhaust fan started sounding more like a 2-stroke leaf blower.

Yeah, I pulled back and decided to go with these little DIY self draining trays into a bucket with a condensate pump to keep it all in the tent…Maybe in the future I’ll outfit a professional drain set up in my garage (#goals) but it just kind of feels weird using a bathroom like that permanently.

I guess worst case scenario I’ll have to upgrade to a taller tent, but at least I’m not janking the hell out of that bathroom.
