Simple Greenhouse Grow (Emerald Fire OG x Lemon G)

I have been working on collecting and trialing lemon g genetics with a future breeding project in mind. The first step of this project has been obtaining seeds containing lemon g genetics. Between myself and a couple growmies, we are slowly working our way through some of the genetics we have obtained. My first run for this was Organicx Genetics emerald fire og x lemon g. I decided to run these organically in a greenhouse and see how much I could simplify a grow. I didn’t get these seeds until some time in June so they weren’t germinated until the end of June. Thats about 2 months late for a typical season here. I had a total of 3 of 4 seeds pop, but due to high humidity in the greenhouse, I ran into damping off issues with 2 of the 3 seedlings. It left me with one single plant. I grew this plant in a quart pot for 3 weeks with a simple mix of organic nutrients mixed into the potting soil. Then potted it up into a 5 gallon pot full of promix and compost mixed with with KIS Organics nutrient mix. From there all that had to be done was water it until early September when it started to really stretch and put on flower. At this point it was top dressed with more KIS nute mix and a little liquid fert to help with a minor nitrogen deficiency that was starting to show. An earlier top dressing or a larger pot with more nutrients probably would have prevented that. At that point it was lightly defoliated and much of the yellowed fan leaves were removed. Nothing but water was added the rest of the grow. It took until the end of the first week of November to finish. It gave off a very lemony pinesol aroma that filled the greenhouse during its last several weeks. After cure it gives off some of the undeniable lemon g aroma with some sour og undertones. This plant got a late start, took very little work, had no pest problems, and was often neglected. I have not yet given it the smoke test but I am very pleased with how it turned out with such little effort. It has a nice smell but its not quite the lemon g profile I am looking for. This was not one of the crosses that I had high hopes for so that is why I decided to trial it in the greenhouse with a simplified nutrient mix. I wanted to see how simple I could make a grow and still end up with a good finished product. Overall I am happy and would grow with these methods again, with just a few tweaks.

After a 3 month cure, I just broke it down into jars. Ended up just over 3oz. For a plant that was started outdoors at the very end of June and wasn’t transplanted into a 5 gallon until August, I’m happy. Buds are pretty fluffy and light, probably in big part from the Lemon G genetics.
