I apologize to those who were eager to connect but discovered OG offline on the last day. Our (mostly security related) routine update, which is usually completed quickly, unexpectedly involved transferring a significant amount of data, which extended the process to approximately 90 minutes.
The most noticeable change is the updated font, which is now more legible and slightly larger, enhancing readability, especially on mobile devices.
Other than that, 99% of the improvements were made behind the scenes to the platform’s engine. This update makes the site safer, faster, and more compatible with the latest browsers.
Thank you for your support and patience during the outage!
@LemonadeJoe
The site seems to be glitchy after the update. When I click on who has liked posts the avatars just flash and go away.
Also sometimes the don’t appear
Are you using desktop or phone? Mine too but if i hold it down it will stay till i lift my finger , idk i kinda like it that way , keeps me from having to double click it , it kinda saves a “stroke”
The flags need to be of a certain quality/quantity for a post to be automatically hidden. If it gets hidden, it remains so only until a moderator approves or rejects the flag. There’s always a reason for a post to be hidden (it’s offensive, spam, etc.).
In community moderation, we depend on high-trust-level members to act because their actions are prompt. It’s a useful feature, and for now it’s set in a pretty balanced way. And there’s also backlash if there’s any misuse of the flag feature.
i used to think so too until i spent some time on an unmoderated forum with a bunch of “free-dumb” idiots in charge. it’s supposed to be a professional site too, that’s why i’m there. posting to keep up the seo and to get out there for business. it’s toxic as hell. during my first day there, someone made fun of me for using my full name instead of the typical shortening of it! i get a jab every now and then though. yeah, you don’t want to give that crowd a millimeter. not like the other side is much better with the radicals, but there just aren’t as many radicals, or so it seems. that’s so i don’t offend anyone. it’s not realy poitical but i don’t want any to creep in.
