You can see in the Cultivator’s Choice catalog that Skunk #1 and the Mazari were two different strains. It is likely that all of their packaging said “Flying Skunk Brand”, although I can’t find any other images of the same version of their packaging to prove that.

You can see on this version of the packaging that a flying skunk was a common motif for them.

Hi BCC, indeed but in my opinion Skunk#1 was a clone work selection from Mazari, that’s why its offspring can be with broad or narrow foliage. So nothing Colombian or Mexican from 70s in it and early flowering is the evidence, otherwise it should be more 14 or even 16 weeker recessive.

About the other Mazari lineage good question, is there any review of it? Is this the line with which Nevil created the Northern Lights?

Part of my Maz moms

Unfortunately, I don’t know any more than what the catalog says, but I think it is pretty well established that Northern Lights was first from Seattle, WA before it was in Holland.

In this video, you can see the back of the pack. The text clearly says that it is an indica, but “Skunk #1” is written in pen. It makes me think that they re-used the same packaging for more than one strain. OTOH, it could be what you are saying.

Ok thank you for the details  There seems to be a small bridge between SK and NL like first cousinery from a common origin. Anyway In my eyes they are both pure Afghan landrace with all its variousness and heterogeneity. RIP Nevil.

Nevil sent them mazari to cross with there Afghani to make nl they swapped letters for a while however I agree skunk is skunk mazari is just part of it and yes at one point I think Sam used whatever packaging was there hence the mix up

Mazari is definitely on my list of things to get into to check out. Is your selected specifically to the strawberry side of things?

Strawberry cut backcross in second generation and then all openpoll so 60/70% fruity now and 30/40% skunky kush classic. I plan to work the strawberry line in itself yes will see

That’s a nice diversity, I’ve been meaning to read through your mazari threads. There in the list.:rofl: How is the high compared to the nl (supposed part of it) and the other worked/heirloom afghanis.

Definitely Mazari is a vigorous and sturdy plant, by now they have almost doubled the size of how they were on that picture, unfortunately for me just 2 out of 6 are females, I have another seed increase in the process otherwise I would have use some on the males found they look really good.
The downside if any they require quite a lot of water, at least on those 3,5L , (is that a US gallon ? And whenever they is a bit of draugh and are low on water the leaves tend to dry out, again just because there are in 3,5L, they will be re potted on 8,5 by the end of the week
Will try to update today
