Small adhesive led light for shipping clones

Is there a best type of adhesive led light to get? any suggestions? it would need a small battery built in I guess, plus be in the correct spectrum. I didn’t find what i wanted on the zon.

DOOOD peep this

i think that’s what i am looking for. they have these smaller, like 10oz, beer cups. i can get one of those with a top cup all in a fixed fee overnight envelope.

Way too much overthinking…

how enlightening…

Food for thought. … You can just mail unrooted cuttings and not have to worry about the lighting or keeping roots moist :man_shrugging:. I’ve kept cuttings in my refrigerator for up to 8 weeks and they still rooted

then i have to have my cloner cleaned and running when they arrive.
Also, ambient conditions where i live aren’t the same as where you live. A rooted clone would last a lot longer than snips. food for thought…

Here is my cheapest method buying premade shippers. They are roughly 5 dallars each with 100 hour light and moisture stopper. You can get them for less than 3 dallars each without the moisture stopper and the LED light. However the lights are sensitive and don’t seem to last more than 3 or 4 days but all have arrived in good condition. The more expensive clone shipper that run 15 to 20 bucks (pic at bottom) have a far better led and battery but they cost 3 to 4 times the cost of these cheaper shippers. I’m not a big fan of sending wet soil. I think rockwool is a safer bet for shipping just my 2 cents lol Cheers !!!

i don’t usually root into rockwool. i got my first clone in the mail with rockwool recently. it’s almost like I had to reroot the thing…and I nearly just snipped it and put into the ez clo9ner. also, my rooting method uses a 6oz cup, once the ez cloner produces roots, which is bigger than the small shipping packages. is there a good way to use an ez cloner with the smaller shipping containers?

@splinter7 They have root riot plugs that can be used instead of Rockwool. They even have little small fabric bags on the fancy ones to help protect roots from light, etc.

say I get roots to show on a snip in the ez cloner, how do i get it into the root plug? sorry, limited experience with root plugs here…last time i tried to germinate in one it didn’t go well.

@splinter7 basically, you would get a few roots in your cloner to show. And then you would transplant into your root riot before the roots got too far along. That would allow them to grow into the plug. You won’t be able to push roots into the plug they’ll just break off.

@splinter7 I think you might be better off with Coco Or soil… those two options would allow you to have roots from your cloner and carefully place soil around your rooted clone. Probably a better option if you’re going to run the Cloner that dose not require a substrate.

that’s what i thought. is there a way to get the coco to fit in the same space as a root plug?

You would just use small fabric bags or even a small plastic bag. The last clone I received had a small fabric bag holding cocco and a plastic bag over that holding the moisture ect.

You can cut the plug enough to open it up, place the rooted cut’s roots in the plug, close it, wet a paper towel with your clone feed, squeeze it out some, fold and wrap that around the plug, pop it in a clone shipper, and you’re good to go.

@BTYGMO @PatHealy

both are great ideas, thanks a lot.

I kind of just want to ship a clone wrapped in paper towel letter mail and see what happens. I bet it would work.
