Yeah after years of crawling through the tent to get the ones at the back, this is much better !
Been thinking for a few weeks about different pump setups to make watering easier, but they were all kind of annoying to do.

OK so final count of ladies, I think, is:
- 2 LSD F2
- 1 Cali O x C99
- 2 Sweet Skunk
- 1 Cali O F3
- 1 Peanut Butter Breath F2
- 1 Bahia Blackhead (forgot to label, behind Tex)
My quick ones for outdoor Skippy Breath and Texada Timewarp were all male.
I kept a Texada male. It wasn’t my first choice because I’m not sure of the lineage but I like the look and it’s got a nice lemony stem rub. Seeds came via @ShitSeeds.
LSD F2s look pretty nice and uniform. Nice work BOG, RIP.
I forgot to take in the Canna Lilies last fall, so winter took them out but I found some nice seed pods this week. Last year I tried to germinate them like normal seeds and didn’t get any to pop, have to do some special stuff due to their very hard shell:
- scarify the seed until you see the white inner part, not on the nub where the root will come out
- pour nearly boiling water over them and let it cool
- shop towel in a ziplock in a warm place
I was skeptical about boiling seeds, but it worked! Now I’m just waiting for the face hugger to jump from the pots

Yeah how did someone come up with that ? I saw a youtube video comparing boiled vs not and the boiled ones did WAY better.
The Cali is very stinky, has good vigor, and had big lower branches reaching up to the canopy. Cali was my 2nd choice for pollen donor, but the male had that whorled phyllotaxy with the 3 stem nodes, so I didn’t pick him.
Cali x C99 plants were all kind of wide and squat, much different from the parents.
How are yours looking ?

Everything is coming together nicely. The only snag is that my males don’t seem to want to drop so I’m pollinating manually which is a pain in the ass.
But I’m only going to do it for a few more days and then I get what I get.
I assume seed quantities will be lower than I’d anticipated but what can you do?
I wanted a Cali male but the NL88 will make some nice crosses too.

Yeah it’s dropping a lot of pollen now. His job is pretty much done I’m just waiting on the Bahia that I started later on to throw a few more pistils.

The Sweet Skunks are trying to touch the lights and Bahia’s thinking about it. Lots of seeds developing.
I like how the Timewarp male turned out, he stacked a lot of flowers and dropped a ton of pollen.

Took the male out. They’re heavily seeded now, with a few weeks to maturity. I let them get over dry a few days and they’re mad about it.

63F. Bit of neglect going on I have a lot of projects on the go. Forgot to put the dehuey in the basement it was pretty swampy down there had a bit of budrot… LSD seeds are dark and sticking out of the shells so I chopped those, the rest are not even close.
Got a nice volunteer outside, it’s the biggest thing in the garden this year by far. No idea what it is but it looks pretty good.
You know that thing people say about autos getting stunted if you leave them in solo cups too long ?
I guess they say it for a reason

How’s that PBB smelling, anything like the name at all? Autos look healthy even if they got stunted, all 20 auto seeds I tried this year so far got stunted at 1" seedling stage Tough plants to grow!

Nah no peanut butter aromas, but it’s very frosty at least. That sucks about your autos just the way it goes sometimes. If you wanted some seeds for another attempt I could send some along.
