Up until the late 1990s seed production in the netherlands was legal. That´s the reason Nevils Cannabis Castle could exist in the open. When the laws changed seed production was forced underground or abroad (that´s the reason Spain has become the hotspot in europe). Many people assume, that virtually all original parent plants of virtually all dutch legacy strains have been lost during that time and I think so too. Be it AK47, White Widow, NL5Haze, SSH, you name it. The parent plants that produced seeds from which cupwinners came are in all likelihood long gone.
I grew the Snow White from Nirvana around 2014. Good yielders, robust plants, solid potency, generic taste, not over the top white in appearance. Their Chrystal strain of similar (supposed) composition was more to my liking (more interesting fruitier taste). I would not necessarily trust Nirvanas official lineage. There is a rumour, that Nirvanas founder used a special Purple Skunk male, that enhanced structure, but let the other parent shine through in every other aspect, for many of his strains. To complicate things in April 2015 Nirvana changed ownership. It seems Nirvana has stopped producing regular seeds, so don´t wait too long. All in all there is so much uncertainty, that maybe some Humboldt Snow S1s might be closer to the Snow White of yersteryears than the current version of it´s official creator.
Good luck!
That is a well composed answer!
Thank you for the quick history lesson!!
