I’m still trying to deal with it all. Her heart gave out almost instantly early yesterday morning. She was 86 and had been suffering from Alzheimers for about 18 months. She hadn’t reached the point yet where she did not recognize me when I called, but lots of repetitious discussions and simply agreeing with things because it was easier and better than telling her, “Mom, Jeannie passed away four years ago”.
A lot of weird things go through your head when you lose your last parent.
Sorry to hear sending condolences going through Alzheimer’s with my grandma for the last couple years now. I know the agreeing because it’s easier sometimes, I feel for ya man
I am very sorry for your loss.
I have said this many times and it is not meant to be hard. It gives me comfort.
" Maybe the dead look back at us and wonder why we cling to life so desperately. Until we pass we can not know that death is not the sweetest joy."
So sorry for you Sharing pain helps and this is the right place, where people are ready to lighten your pain. I feel close that strange feeling of not having still deal with, I lost my father not long ago. Only the time heals, a big hug
My condolences, I’m so sorry about your loss and how sudden it was. Alzheimer and Dementia can be a vicious thing it’s so good she was able to recognize you all this time. Take the time you need for you and I’m sure there’s a good amount of folks on here who can be there for you
So sorry for your loss.
May you find peace in remembering your Mom in the good times and happy places.
As a mom I’m sure she would just be at peace wanting you to be happy and carry on through life making her proud as she watches over you.
My heart goes out to you @Zolorp
