I just stared growing , I just wanted to ask if Mother Earth Groundswell soil is good ?
Never used it but it looks fine
Welcome to the OG friend. ![]()

I’ve used it and am using some. I prefer BuildASoil — and once you get going (I’m still pretty new but already have learned) — it’s not that hard to mix up your own.
You might consider adding some perlite to the MEG. It’s a bit more dense than I think I like.
That soil is fine though. Welcome to OG!
Consider adding worms. ![]()
Welcome, This is like this: Usual soil from land sure will work but if you want to minimize stress or other factors, use a comercial soil for orchids or cannabis.
The soil itselft work out but how much nutrients are there or not? All those small factors will count.
I use All Mix and It is perfect, I reuse the indoor grows soil so I don’t buy much anymore.
This reduces pests and bad ph medium to reach our plants if indoor.
For like 20€ for 50L (10Gal) it is reazonable priced and you ensure minimal problems.
It’s probably fine, but that largely depends on how you intend to use it. I’m going to assume you’ll be using containers. It’s marketed as potting soil. I personally prefer inert mixes with no compost.
Welcome to the grow world. I run aeroponics, so I defer to the soil wizards.
I like the build a soil 3.0 best
I used Mother Earth for several years, nothing wrong with it except it can be a touch hot for some seedlings.
I’d suggest using it and getting a few grows under your belt until you’re comfortable with growing a plant from start to finish more than one time… After that you’ll be more receptive to what changes you might make are having on the plants.
I grew soil for a long time, switched to RDWC, and finally landed on coco and perlite.
Enjoy the journey, it’s rewarding.
I really like coco myself. I am using royal gold Tupur and it’s amazing. I like using jacks citrus, jacks cal nitrate and some epsom salt. My first real grow I used advanced nutrients and have decided it’s not worth it.
