So will they be able to use 2 cups? One for drainage and the roots to hang out in and the the one the substrate and plant itself are in?
Just have to go thru its growth phases inside the solo cup @splinter7
You can use another cup for drainage however the rule is roots MUST stay within the main cup.
@LedZeppelin, this is your world so would be interested to see what you can do
can i up pot though? i guess i could keep the smaller cup inside the solo and then cut off the smaller cup later on while it remains in the solo, but if all that isn’t needed that would be great.
Alright boys, I’m in on this! Just popped a bean out of storage for you.
This is a cross of Magic Strains “Witch Doctor F5”
With Gnome Automatics “Anvil”
I’m growing an auto because I won’t have a tent switched over to 12/12 before January, so its going to live in my 18/6 tent with some photoperiods.
I’ll be growing in Coco Coir and feeding with Masterblend.
I think im in, will start some this week…should have everyone mark the date they begin on the cups directly just to keep it clean
In past events, we have taken clones from Rockwool cubes and transplanted them into solo cups for the event… Cheers @splinter7
Can you use plants that are already started? I have a few solo cup moms I was thinking of flowering out.
Love to see little monster just like what @OH420 did last year solo cup challenge.
Good luck everyone!!! Let see those monster crop. ![]()
I think ill join as well. I gotta dig thru the vault and see what to sprout.
I’d be excited to watch you pull off the flowering of a mother in solos. I think the main issue is competing against folks that are just starting.
I think last year the categories were clone, photo, and auto. But the clones were fresh rooted not established plants.
@Fortman420 for clarification the rule that roots must reside in main cup would disqualify my submission from last comp? I used a solo with cut outs and kept that in another solo. It all remained in that cup, but did allow the roots to live in the space between the bottom of one cup and the other.
That’s why I asked that above because that’s the only way I’ve ever grown in a solo cup before lol
After running the solid pots this run I feel more confident that I can pull it off in a solid cup, but I know most of us did it the way I did last time.
Thank you for everyone speaking up and help clarifying questions. Im in Disneyland for the next few days including now so Im only on very intermittently
This is my first time entering in to one of these contests. I was curious, since i am only running regular photos, am i allowed to sprout more than one seed to find a female? Or do i have to just ride out whatever i started?
@Bigred41291 absolutely, honestly you have to make sure you find one ![]()
Welcome to the Solo family. Small but mighty!
Awesome thanks for the response @Fortman420 my entry will be one of these 3 Queso 99
I’m in for the solo cup fun. I’ll find a corner in the flower tent to put her. Just took some cuttings so I should have roots in a week or two. Choices include Mendo Purps 54 x Bubba Kush 101 (CSI), Carbon Fiber (Cannarado), Sour Diesel x Lemon Party (CSI) and Big Bad Wolf (ChemD x Chem91)(CSI).
Any rules for vegging it or do they go directly to flower? Is winner the one with most dry weight?
