TBH, I don’t love my forum name, but in case anyone knew me from the old OG, I thought I’d use it again. When I joined overgrow 1.0 in 2001, I was most amazed by the purple strains with crazy triches, so that’s where the name came from. However, it wasn’t until recently that I personally grew out some strains that matched that description. So, without further adieu, I give you my purple-n-hairy strains:
Princess Haze by Brothers Grimm
Blue Dream
Girl Scout Cookies Extreme
And the purple-est of them all…
Mendo Lights
So now it’s your turn. I’d love to see your PURPLE and HAIRY (fuzzy with trichomes) strains!

Dark Devil, best one I’ve grown by look

Nice! I’m surprised at how green the leaves are. Most of mine were also quite purple. Then again, it looks like that one has a few weeks before she’s finished, which is plenty of time for those leaves to get more color. Do you have any shots of her dried buds, or is this this first time you’ve grown her out?

Oh no lol that’s an old pic… I got lucky that the bigger leaves didn’t get the purple bleeding into them as the smaller ones seemed to
Dried out and cured about 9 months for these

And with the Devils I’ve noticed a variation in their offspring with color patterns: dark purple leaf bleeders or dark purple with just with green leaves, then I’ve ran across just a green plant sometimes lol, and lavender flowers and green leaves… But I love the variations, plus they smell and taste amazing

Wow, that’s a compact plant, but super fat buds!
So are you seeing the variations from clones of an original, or are you seeing them in plants you’ve grown from the seeds produced by the mother?
BTW - have you also noticed an increase in the purple coloring when the temps are lower, like they are in the winter (in northern states)?

Yea I usually notice purpling in cooler temps through winter months in my grow room, then in the warmer months I lose my purples unless they are genetic which is why I like the dark devils but these were autos so all different variation in seeds from the parent

Princess haze has the looks of a killer.
But then they all look great

Thank you! That Princess Haze is definitely impressive all around (because of her lineage - not anything I did!). She and the GSCE are probably the most potent of the plants currently in my garden, and both of them will be in my garden for as long as I’m growing.
