I know somebody who has daywreckwr diesel, chem 91, aj sour diesel , loompas headband and a few others , there all different.
Here is the sour diesel I got in San Jose
Went into flower super late as a tester got one as a mom in case it’s a winner , looks different then the aj cut I grew.
That’s one crunchy with sugar on top flower! Gorgeous!
this whole aj stuff just keeps getting funnier lmao no way. people really think some guy name AJ made sour D. crazy. he may have renamed something the same thing but thats not it.
new york city diesel is different, nycd is grapefruit and lemon lime terps. its dank smoke too. its completely different. idk what they call sour or nycd in the east coast. i guess they call stuff east coast diesel and aj sour. ill be forever confused. the real sour diesel takes 10-12 weeks , its 12, and it has lemon in it and tastes like sour diesel but its not grassy like the other stuff can be. i always thought OG was better and liked OG, but good sour also tastes like OG a bit too
I have never seen those photo’s… thank you.
I am guessing they were originally posted on the original version of OG?
Pics being from 95, when he received the 91 from Gaby… is that also when he lost the MSS?
Where does he do that? I’m pretty sure everyone including AJ knows the new verigated cut is not the original.
The aj cut I got was not variegated it was from purple city genetics , I did not like it though and let her go, most people I see grow the aj show non variegated plants , not sure where this variegated aj cut even became a thing.
Growing a different sour cut now from a Bay Area club only time will tell
It’s the newer version AJ has passed around, when it’s not verigated its happy. But it always has at least a few that are. People seem to really like it.
These are from SkunkVAs instagram I believe. There’s a reddit thread with some more photos he posted. Unsure when he lost it
I’ve definitely seen some people confused about this because he didn’t change the name. If the new AJ cut is an S1 or an outcross or something, I think he should have labeled it like that.
It also confuses further breeding work. I’ve seen packs that are labeled AJ Sour x (Male) but without specifying if its the old AJ or new AJ cut.
Maybe I’m being too nerdy, but to me the reason we name cuts is to have clarity about which one we’re talking about
This entire conversation is only interesting to weed nerds
I guess I’m not a weed nerd. Hahaha.
I think your in denial
Yea I agree but I don’t think it’s AJ pushing that. It’s obviously not the same cut. I have never grown out the original cut but this one smokes very nice and has the taste and smell down.
On a personal level AJ seems like a cool guy, I just don’t respect this specific hustle of mislabeling famous cuts. He went on the “First Smoke of the Day” podcast to promote this collab he did with a new york dispensary. Do you see my point about how this is confusing? He marketed it as “The Real Sour” and “est. 1996”
I don’t want to come across as too salty about this, basically my point was that AJ has always been a marketer and salesman and not a weed nerd/breeder.
He went with flower house for this interesting.
Makes sense since only mixed light greenhouses can ever hope to finish in ny.
Dispensaries basically can only buy finished packaged products. They would have to talk to a processor to white label for them.
He did an agreement with a cultivator. Piff coast is doing this also. I’d love to see the license agreement these guys drew up
Apparently this arrangement has not worked out so well. My buddy said it’s not going to continue.
I explained the ny system because it is different than some other systems. There were a lot of dispensaries who had visions of creating their own brands that had the rug pulled out from them
Anyone heard of the “Crunchy Cut” sour diesel?
it purples?
Yes it is but only in the leaves. It has a sour smell and very firm buds. Stretched about 3x
