SpaceCraft Hub - Homebrew Breeding Hangout

Cheers OG! Having successfully completed my first honest attempt at a breeding run, I’d like to create a more perpetual thread for all things moving forward in my garden. I’d like to thank all of the awesome OverGrow users that gassed me up and supported me along the way.

Before I move forward with laying out what I’ve got in the works I’d like to just note a couple things for any new people popping in to check out my projects: I am not a company and you can not buy seeds from me. I don’t have a professional genetics pedigree and I don’t have the space to hunt through hundreds of plants. I am striving for honest attempts at certifiable dank, but ultimately I am just here for the fun and sharing with green-thumbed friends.

  • If you are growing anything from me, this is the place to share any and all progress, good or bad! I immensely appreciate any and all updates!

Okay I’m done being bureaucratic - Let’s move on to the next round of pollen bombing!

The male I will hopefully be using for this run is Lime Bubble from Marcus over at Golden Road Seed Co. Really rad dude with some great projects going on. Lime Bubble is: Black Lime Reserve “Jodrey” cut x ’04 Bog Sour Bubble BxC-2 F-2 - I’m looking for a black lime leaning male but so far they are all sturdy and stinky to the touch. Gassy lime peel spring soap stem rub.

I just moved the 6 tweenage plants from their caveman wick setup in my uncomfortably cold garage tent into 2gals in the breeding tent where the environment is much more ideal. I will be topping/cloning each one post rebound, and from there I will move them into another tent as I flip the moms. I am aiming to use the best looking/smelling male, so I will attempt to suss out the stud during this period if possible. A note from Marcus is that the lanky ones are black lime leaners, so I’ve got my eye on those. I will gradually reduce the light hours in the Lime Bubble tent to force preflowers as the breeding tent works through its first few weeks of flower sans male.

Now, for the Mother roster:

  1. Chem 4 (SoCal Cut)
  2. LA Sour (Vintage Grandmother Cut)
  3. Glitterbomb (Exclusive Cut $$$)
  4. Skunk Venom {Cali Octane x Venom OG} (Pheno Hunted Unicorn tester from HSC - Acquired from this years Emerald Cup)
  5. Guava Tart (PCG Cut - Acquired from this years Emerald Cup)
  6. S. Dot {Sour Dubb x Orange Tahoe} (Archive Cut)
  7. Blue Dream (Archive Cut)
  8. The Eucharist #2 (My selection)
  9. Sweet Stinky Cheese (Humboldt CSI from Fem Seed)
  10. Ricky’s Hashplant (BGS Tester from Fem Seed)

I still need to take a cut of the Glitterbomb, Guava Tart, Skunk Venom, SSC, and Ricky’s Hashplant. I will take these the same time I top and move the Lime Bubbles, sometime next weekend or so.

Looking forward to throwing down! In the meantime, feel free to pull up a chair and share photos of any plants from my previous run. I’m testing 3 females of The Eucharist (Communion x Charcuterie) and one Crepe Krush (Pure Krush x Charcuterie) - I’m not the proudest of this flower run, but at the very least I’m seeing how these plants hold up in adverse conditions. My main tent is in my garage which has abysmal insulation. The winter temp swings and ambient humidity are out of control so I’ve been providing additional heating and trying to keep the humidity in check during lights-off which has been stressing them them out more than I like to see. They are losing color and large lower fans but aside from that they are stacking on frosty wonderful smelling flowers.

Cheers all! I’ll be back with more updates and stuff happens

Saw your other thread about your small breeding project and I loved it! Really looking forward to follow along this one! And as I love citrus stains I’m really looking forward what the Lime Bubble will bring to the Chem4 & LA sour!

Cheers all and thanks for hanging!!

@bigLblazed - Hard to pin down the exact profile right now, but while the plants look like mom the smell is all over the place between her and the charcuterie male. Kinda has a fruity dryer sheets and citrus/gassy thing going on. Oily trichs from the mother, which I like. Paternal line was very frosty but had gritty/sandy trich-feel.

Dude right on, I’m actually really interested to see what comes of those. That was the most limited of the lineup and the only one I didn’t run seedless to test flower. A few months before working on the breeding project I popped a single seed to check out and never got around to growing it, so it went in the breeding tent as a last minute spot filler. By the time it went in, it had been rootbound for a month and trimmed back multiple times - Basically a bonsai at this point. It was hardened off and woody, so I observed a small plant that didn’t stretch much and put on like 20 tiny tops. The seeds were fairly tiny as well, relative to the flowers. I did observe a lot of trichome production that ambered out faster than anything else in the tent. Tacky/gummy trich feel while shucking. Floral, fruity, complex baked sweets nose that I find common in most cookies crosses. Should be some dank in there.

Either way, I’m really interested to see what comes of it! Please do share updates whenever you please

Cheers!

Everybody is bouncing back and blowing up in the new tent rather quickly. So far I have one confirmed female and two males on the lime bubble. The female was the one I was really eyeballing but the other two males thankfully were the runner-ups. Honestly I’m just being picky as they all look great and the one I was eyeballing was the lanky stretcher back left that has a slightly more perfumey stem rub than the rest.

Taking cuts tomorrow, flipping a few days after that as I remove the Lime Bubbles for a few weeks. Stay tuned! Cheers!
