Specializing in hot peppers

Same here brother, those aji verities are what got me this year plus a few ornamental types.

The Fantasy is supposed to have a nice citrus taste, I can’t do the really hot ones or the super hots yet lol.

Aji peppers are incredible; some of my absolute favorite fruits

That’s a nice selection, and I didn’t know about them before, so thank you!

I bet an angry, rootbound solo cup plant and a happy seedling cell plant will end up neck and neck after a couple weeks in the ground. I normally start right into solos, and then go right into the ground. This year I’m going to go from the trays to solos just so I don’t have lightly hand water dozens of tiny seedlings in solo cups at the start. Traded of course for having to transplant, but my wife helps me with that so it’s ok haha. I’ve got an earlier batch of citrons still in the tray, they’re a couple months old and on like the 5th set of leaves. Maybe this weekend I’ll move them, but I’m not super motivated because they still look happy af.

@potpotpot I saw your like on my post: I didn’t list the fatalii because the 2 I have above ground are iffy… but there are 2!!

No worries, it was a regular like, not the passive aggressive type haha.

But yeah, those peppers were frozen fresh, not the best for seeds. But since they aren’t available in the us anymore, and I was out of seed, and all the cuttings I took died, and any port in a storm you know haha. Thank you for trying, and they might surprise you yet!

They’re alive and green, so that’s something!
They just seemed to have stalled out for the moment. It probably took a lot of defrosted energy to get out of the ground!
Edit: if I do manage to keep them alive, I’ll keep them separate from the other plants, and I’ll be able to send some seeds back to you, and to others that might want them where they aren’t available!

If I do find one that is hot I will be saving the seeds that’s for sure…

I’ve had white flies on the peppers in the poly tunnel. Took the plants out, and the flies disappeared. I didn’t ask where they were going.

I hit everything with malatheon. I hate to use but all sorts of plants from nurseries are just loaded with pests so just bit the bullet and has evened everything out. That was 3 days ago still good. Next if needed I am just gonna use 1:1 h2o2:h2o and spray. I’ll put pics if come back these are only 5 " tall and they were killing them.

I am gonna transplant these soon, I promise haha. This is the first batch I started, several months ago.

The most recent seed drop.

And I guess I didn’t take pics of the citrons that I shared, but they’re alive still too haha.

So, what are those ones that are up and at 'em? They look nice! I might get some Fataliis from my son, I didn’t start any. We are trying nematocidal marigolds where the peppers and tomatoes were last year. The root knot nematodes were getting bold :frowning:

I grow hot peppers over the summer, but I’ve had this Vampire pepper chillin in a can with its multiple homegirls for about 9 months now. During the summer, I just grow on a 2nd floor porch/balcony with full sun all day

Have you added beneficial nematodes to your garden space? Those along with the marigolds should help a lot, just be sure to leave those marigold roots in the soil after the plants die back.
