Everyone has all these fancy remedies. I’m going use diatomaceous earth dust only and show how easy it can really be.
Will start the show first thing tomorrow morning. Will document everything.
See you then.
‘Neoseiulus californicus’, used these predatory mites last year in flower, used this season again in a greenhouse.
Fantastic results…not free…it’s the shipping that hurts. This year I have refreshed them every 3 weeks and added in ‘green lace wings’ too.
I purchase from ‘Naturesgoodguys’.
Ran the vegetable garden with beneficials too this year, saved my leafy stuff.
DE is fun. you get this white powdery dry spot where the thing used to be. kinda hilarious. if your RH% is down, and the VPD is over 1. they’ll dry out.
I use a mix of Peppermint/tea tree/rosemary/clove oil, and water. in a spray bottle. gets most that stuff out. save the neem for veg and the roots. and also pyrethrins.
DE is also a great source of Si for the plants, too. get some nice strong branches. I need to top dress some DE on my plants. i’ll mix it in with some bone meal. they’re like week 4 of flower.
I personally don’t like DE simply because once it gets wet it is useless and then has to dry out to do it’s job correctly.but also does nothing for the eggs so it is always a continued battle.
I dont.spray my.plants down and rh is consistent at 60%. Ill dust with duster bottle every other day. Baby mite larvae will not be able.to handle it and die soon after hatching.
Will leave de on for now…might spray it off in a week or so…baby mites should be finisjed hatching by then. Larvae wont be able to hack this. Lots of plants werent affected by the looks of it…so may have caught them before too much spreading.
2 weeks and possble 1 reapplication in between is probably enough.
6 days to hatch
3 says larva stage
3 days nymph stage
Any adults already removed (deleaf) or hit with de…wont last long.
So 12 days from egg to adult. So ill give a 14 day treatment to be sure.
