I usually check my plants every other day yesterday morning I found what look to be like spider mites. I’m about two weeks from harvesting and I hate to waste everything so out of desperation I sprayed some smart grower Neem Oil/ peppermint plant wash over the infected area hour later they were all dead. I cleaned all the remains and webs with a small toothbrush and today I was rechecking and after using the microscope this is I find little bug of some sort. Help what should I do cut and dispose. I hear some people talking about dawn soap and water or “weed washing”? Just looking for advice
If you spray neem on buds its unfortunately going to taste and smell nasty in my experience. The only safe thing to spray in flower is citric acid. That’s a pretty bad infestation looking at the webbing and I hate to say it but I would chop the plant and toss it.
That’s to bad you have an infestation. I would cut them and take it as a learning experience. Wipe the room or tent clean with a good disinfectant. Start from seed don’t take in any clones and keep room clean. Can not stress how important it is to have a clean room. And for instance, when you get home from work, take a shower first before going into the tent try to be mindful of stuff like this and honestly, I don’t show anyone my grow just because of what they might have on them. I don’t want in my tent. cheers og and happy growing
I hate to say it, but I agree with the recommendations above to trash the plant. By the time you have webbing like that, you’ve got an infestation that will spread to every plant in your home if you don’t cull it.
Search for the “one-n-done” topic from JohnnyPotseed and deep clean all of your plants and grow spaces with it. That mix is 100x better than neem oil because it kills the eggs too, plus its made with natural ingredients. It’s become a staple in my garden and it’s great for outdoor plants, succulents, and veggies as well.
Don’t try saving any buds from that. You don’t want concentrated bugs in your concentrates. I’ve had an infestation like that before. If that’s a strain you like but don’t have a backup, Lost Coast plant therapy spray is good. Then get a cut and root like normal. Spray spray spray
only thing ive ever used this i did with a shot glass 1 plant 3/4 of a shot rubbing alchol,1 shot drinking whisky,1shot peroxide, 3 drops dawn dish soap ,4 drops dr.bonners castel soap,4 drops of peppermint oil you have to shake it regularly the oil doed’nt like the whisky, i have not used this in full flower will kill em
I’m going to second trashing and doing the one and done in the future.
I had mites off and on, and this was the only product that has kept them away. I’ve gone 2 years without a single issue since adding it to my regiment!
