Spitfire's perpetual nightmare(fka SourD hole)

Ok so I’ve finally come to my decision on the Shoreline ECSD and the 2 Karma Sowahhs. They are all staying for now. The sowahhs are most certainly closer to what I elect sour diesel to be. Now that I have grown them, the Shoreline ECSD pheno smells much more like crotch body odor with rancid garlic/onion in a musty moldy basement. The Sowahhs hit the head nicely and both taste really great from a joint. I’m going to run all three side by side but won’t be until late winter.

This is both sowahh phenos. left one was run a full 12 weeks and the right was 10. both awesome.

Bodhi Silver Mountain day 52. Grease shop terps. Looking good and can’t wait to try it.

Shoreline Wedding Cake x GDP 2nd pheno day 34 and purpling much earlier than first pheno. bubblegum terps so far. like the last one.

Good ole Shoreline ECSD day 38. Best growing plant smells ever. Final product has some competition now but hands down I could grow this just to smell it’s terps growing.

Silver Mountain day 61. Starting to foxtail hard and has a little herm looking ball. not sure what’s causing it as the foxtailing is almost every strain. Went way low on nutrient additions this round to see if it was better on the foxtails. Light is at 17 inches, been slowly raising that every grow to see if any diff.

The 2nd Shoreline Wedding Cake X GDP on day 43. It kinda stunted then started swelling a little. Super pretty and very frosty. COVID took my nose away but it’s slowly coming back. Was still bubblebath chem last week.

Shot of the lot with Shoreline ECSD on the upper right on day 47 and Mom Gooey down in the right corner on day 5.

That’s a seed! Could be from a nanner or male flower.

Foxtails are caused by too much heat a lot of the time. Some plants just grow like that too. I think it’s kind of cool looking. Your buds are looking really nice!

well thanks I e always thought these were little herm balls coming out. never left em around to see. It’s the oldest plant in here and no herms lately so have to suspect self.

I’ve kept my night temps at 72 and day 78 and holding at 60rh. Do have slight burnt tips on the sm but maybe 1 mm.

Yeah definitely not the temp then. You said your light is plenty high huh? It doesn’t look like it’s really an issue. You buds look great.

@Spitfire do you drop your temps at night? My experience with sour is she loves cooler temperature. The lower temperature make her greasy, stinky and density increases

@Emeraldgreen

ya I go down to 72 at night and only let daytime come up to about 78, sometimes it’ll get closer to 80 but I monitor and adjust accordingly. wish I could do a full 10degree cycle but my equipment struggles especially when temp outside gets below 60. then it’s hard to.cool the room cuz it’s outside wall heats in the sun. it’s fun fun.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I def am happy with the quality I’m pulling but as i’m sure many are similar, I want better! Foxtailing just bothers me but doesn’t seem to mess with the smoke. fwiw.
I do see many people with their lights way closer and don’t seem to have issues. I feel like I’m neglecting the soil part of the equation and need to address it. Still using a 5050 of ocean forest and happy frog.

I used hps in my grows so I know there are some difference with led. My absolute best batches of sour always happened when I got the temperature into the 50 at night.

dang that’s low, but I’d love to give it a shot.

I had already planned as temps come down I’m gonna be diy’in a cold air intake system on an inkbird with HEPA filter to see if I can bring it down even more at night, and for overall control when below 60 and AC shouldn’t be on.

The cut I had handled the cold like a champ. My buddy’s room went down into the 30. Every plant in there except her had massive cold damage. She had absolutely none. However she didn’t like heat, over 80 started to lower everything for her. The smell, crystal and density all suffered extremely with high temperature.
