Sprinklememaynee's Silly Grow Adventures

Yeah, it seems to be a constant struggle, and I will adapt and improve my space in the fall but for the time being, I am going to utilize this male for some pollination of some of my favourite plants to see what the Goji, and this male especially can bring to the genetics. I ordered a portable AC which will help the house as well as residually help my grow, but man, having to battle 80% rh outside of the tents is a non stop battle.

Woohoo!

So I was able to spend some time this afternoon getting my backyard in order, and decided to check in on one of my cannacheese plants that I have been trying to reverse. I was stoked to see that there are some sacs forming, which will hopefully spread pollen onto my other cannacheese plant, creating a much needed seed increase to refill my stock, but also spread far and wide to my og comrades.

This is the pollen recipient

I also took down my bbhp that I had dusted with some Blue Kush Pollen from @DougDawson, hoping to find some beans in there to play around with. Hoping to amplify the blue on it, as well as bring some of the blue dream yield that has been shining through the bbhp to the blue kush.

The Goji Og male ready to let er rip in the tent as well. I will be turning the fans off tomorrow and leaving the tent sealed for a couple days in anticipation of a nice dusting taking place.

The day of reckoning is upon me! I have pollen being released from my Goji OG male! Very much looking forward to seeing the beans created by this stud of a male!

I am wondering if anyone can anecdotally provide insight into what to do with the male upon all of the pollen being released. I am mindful of not wanting to spread pollen far and wide. Also, how long is pollen viable? I have some plants I am hoping to move into the flower space but want to cut down on the chance of an accidental pollination.

The male!

My veg tent which is quite full as we speak.

It really depends, but generally a week or two if not properly dried and stored. The good news is water deactivates the pollen. So simply spraying and wiping clean with water is sufficient.

Awesome! Thanks for this insight, I will give it a day or two to take and then will mist the area and wipe before lights out.

Time for a big procrastination update! I have a job interview in a couple hours, and wanted to take a little break from prepping to post what has been going on in my various gardens over the past week or so.

First off indoors!
So I was able to allow for some pollen to be thrown around my flower tent last week. the Goji OG stud really let all the other plants have it and threw clouds of pollen around. Hoping that it took on all of the recipients, only time will tell I guess, but i did shake things around and let the pollen settle for a couple days before spraying everything down and dispatching the male.

In the veg tent, my bonanza of green keeps rolling on. I have several plants ready to get clones taken and then sent off to flower to see how they do. I am waiting several days for the pollen to subside before I send these ones off for a stretch and a time to shine.

Here are two Black n Blue Cookies from @BigMike55, they were both moved from 1 gallon to 3 gallon on July 14th and were topped and defoliated.

Here is the first Biker Slush from @Budderton to get ready for its turn in the flower tent

I have vegged out some cuts from my CBD Mango Haze by CBD Crew clone as well, and they seem to be ready for flowering. I really love this strain for any time of day and will keep taking cuts off the mom and keeping her in veg as long as I can

This is the first of the Drago x Mango from @TopicalWave really excited to see what comes of this one.

As an aside, I have been loving the @GreenleafNutrients MegaCrop and Kelp for my indoor! Really takes the guesswork out of nutrients and allows me to scale up and down based on the pot size. Lovely people and lovely product, fingers crossed for a kelp restock soon!

Now for Outdoors: I spent a good amount of time defoliating and top dressing my rural plot over the last weekend. I think the increased rain and humidity have done well for the plants, and have cut down on the resources I have had to use. Will post an updated legend later of what is where, but it is a large variety of plants that all seem to be loving their time by the lake!

In Reversal news! I was able to get some male sacs on my CannaCheese AutoFem! I have plucked all the male sacs and am going to dry them out, and put them through the grinder and then use it on another of the CannaCheese to make some beans for myself and the community!

When I ran BnBC, outside she had the brightest colored pistils ever. Bright pink-purple magenta. You could see her flowers from across the yard. Inside, I could not duplicate the color. Weird. Good luck with her tho. She was a good one for sure.

Thats exciting! I have a couple outdoors going too! High hopes for some of that once we get to flower.

Looks great my friend. Hopefully it’s a lady!

That’s one of my favorite things about growing outside… Pink pistils are the best

Right on @sprinklememaynee ! I’m glad to hear that the Mega Crop is working out for you. Everything is looking happy. And congrats on the reversal. Best of luck with your fem pollen collection.

Pics look great, you’re hired!

I want pictures of spiderman on my desk by tomorrow morning.

An update on the reversal, I supremely fucked up and left the male flowers in a bag to dry out lol. They ended up rotting and once I put them through the grinder, there was no pollen. So much for my reversal of my last two cannacheese beans. Hopefully they get released again or someone else here has them on here.

These are my cheekly little backyard plants this year. I have a Blueberry CBD from @THCeed a cut of my mango haze, a kcbrains mango from @Mithridate, a UFS skunk and 2 of the Aunt Ginny’s Elixir from Mephisto.

I never get to posting this, but I do utilize my bokashi bin regularly, this was a nice cup of liquid that came out this morning and was used on my tomatoes

Hey Everyone!

It has been awhile since I have been on here. I was travelling for work and got to bring my dad along to Kansas City, which was super fun! Lots of bbq was had, but boy I could never live in that heat!!

Some burnt ends!

I got to hang out at the Santa Fe Junction, which as someone obsessed with trains, was like being in heaven! Got to see so many cool lines pull through in the short time I was there.

I came back and spent a bunch of time at my rural property, and spent the better part of a day trimming, defoliating and staking the plants down there.

Unfortunately one of my cbd 1 x erdpurts was male, and had to be dispatched due to not taking any chances with the pollen this time around.

These are the rest of the ladies enjoying their haircut and some nutrients to help them through into flower!

I will post an update on things at home once I get some time and settled.

Time for an update. I ended up having to scrap my seed run due to some really pesky spider mites. Not sure how they got in my flower tent, but they were wreaking havoc on everything. Managed to salvage a handful of seeds that are CBD Mango Haze x Goji OG, and Goji OG x Goji OG, so will pop some of those and explore shortly. Really hoping to make some CBD Mango Haze S1’s this winter as it is easily my favourite plant and am always afraid I will kill the mom I have on the go now, and have to be without my medicine.

Anyways, luckily due to running a somewhat bastardized Bonanza of Green, I had some candidates ready to be thrown right into flower once I had disinfected the flower tent.

I present to you:
CBD Mango Haze

Blak n Blu Cookies from @BigMike55

And another CBD Mango Haze Cut

I also just added a purple dawn to the flower tent, and after losing everything recently and getting fomo after sending stuff to flower, I have been diligently taking clones and keeping them in veg in case I find something I want to stick around.

A company sent me this, and am curious as to what it will do to help with my indoor. Going to use it on all new plants, and used it at half strength in the cuts I just took.

My backyard garden is coming along swimmingly this year! It has been really rainy so I have only had to water a couple times haha. In the mix there I have a Black Garlic x Jamaican Puna from @Oldtimerunderground, a Blueberry cbd from @THCeed, some Harlequin and Dancehall crosses, as well as a Cannacheese auto fem that is close to finish.

I alos have a reversed Aunt Ginny’s Elixir from Mephisto on the go, and it is in the love shack with another plant hoping to make some S1’s to distribute the community, as well as just started a couple more cannacheese plants to go right up until the end of fall outdoors.

Busy year, but really fun to dial stuff in, I finally think I am getting on top of the steep learning curve, and have some really happy plants!

for my nosy neighbours I also have constructed a wall of tomato plants haha

Great work on your plants!

Folks that are interested in perpetual grows should check out Bonanza of Green:+1:
Bushy Old Grower (BOG) did us an amazing service putting that document into the public sphere.

I got ‘lucky’ with my spider mite infestation (happened a week before harvest). That was a ‘wakeup call’ for me to implement protocols (shower and new clothes) before ‘visiting the girls’…

Cheers

A little bit of an update now on all fronts!

In the flower tent, the spider mites seem to be on the backstep, and my deep clean has done the trick. Fingers crossed that they are gone with the plants I had to scrap. I have been going overboard with the bamboo stakes, as I found running a perpetual harvest with a scrog net really prohibitive, and these serve a similar purpose and allow for more mobility.

Here is the Blak n Blu Cookies from @BigMike55, really big fan of the smell coming off these and how visually appealing they are

This wonderful Mango Haze cutting is also putting off some really nice rotten fruit and spicy scents, and seem to be packing on a little weight.

This Drago x Mango from @TopicalWave really took off during stretch, had to train it to allow for an even canopy with the other girls!

Now to the veg tent! I have been doing a little bit of a Purple Kush hunt to try and find some of the expressions I remember from a decade or so ago. I have more seeds on the way, but @Kushking902 traded me for some of Jordan of the Islands PK to get a head start on my hunt. I have topped these and am really letting them go nice and long in the veg.

And here is my Mango Haze mom! Lovely size and been really good about me taking cuts here and there. Currently working to make some S1’s of this girl here to spread far and wide.

At my rural outdoor plot, flower has been started on alot of the girls. Going to spend some time in the coming week doing some defol but my oh my, something about plants and lakes and beautiful scenery. Took some time to chill out on my trimming bucket and roast a fat one and just take in the beauty of the plants. I really took a step back and let the soil do its thing this year, and it paid off. Planting the clover over the winter and top dressing and bokashi really made for a wonderful environment for things to take off this year.

Once I defol, I will take more pics but thats it for now. Thanks for stopping by!!

Looking great. Sorry to read about the spider mites. How do you like growing in those bags? I love that you can write in them with a marker.

I really like the bags, I have 1 gallon that I start them in once they sprout from the solo cups I like to move them into there and hit them with some myco. Then after I see some good growth or the roots start coming out of the bottom of the 1 gallon, I put them into 3 gallon, top them and then let them grow out and send them to flower. I like the plastic because its easier to document stuff on them, and I can really manipulate the space to maximize plants per square foot. helps with the canopy uniformity.

Geez!

Its been awhile since I have been able to hop on here and do a full update! lots has happened

a) spider mites galore! I really half assed my ipm and ended up having to nuke my flower tent completely and regroup, somewhat of a kick in the pants, but will teach me to not leave things going forward, and when faced with pests, deal with them completely first, and not try and adapt to their presence.

The purple kush plants got sent into flower earlier this month, I wish they were a little faster vegging but thats on me for not accounting that. I had to cull several of them as they were males, and currently operating without the infrastructure to keep and harvest males for pollen or create seeds.

was blessed with some cuts of UK Cheese from a member on here. Super happy to see them adapting to their new digs and thriving!

Will post a better update on other projects tomorrow, but wanted to get into the swing of updating this thread regularly.
