Good morning OG. So the plant in question is the oldest plant( like 3-4 months )in the garden. It has the smallest fan leafs and I can’t figure out how/why. This plant is healthy and has hella happy tops:
@HolyAngel created these beans and I’m really looking forward to the flowers. Thanks again Holy.
These are Diesel Trees that were transplanted 6/28 and somehow the leafs are bigger:
Both are in City Pickers. Living organic soil. The SSDD CP is leaking so the res doesn’t stay filled. Been top watering and filling res.
Maybe she started flowering first and stopped growing. Maybe the leak is the problem. Maybe witnessing the very definition of f1 vigor, there f2s. Maybe she’s outgrown her container. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

This is a little over a month ago
hmm well she looks good. Could just be the plant…
Is she getting a lot of direct or indirect sunlight?

Fan leaf size is genetic, not a direct indicator of plant health. Do you have reason to believe the fan leaves are smaller than expected? If leaf size is the only factor, I’d say move along and LITFA
It would be like me growing a Oaxacan next to an OG and worrying that the Oaxacan leaves are too skinny. They’re not, they’re just different plants.

I’m a tad confused. Is it that last pic, the tiny plant that you are talking about?
Otherwise, plants change fan life size and shape a lot throughout their life. Quite normal, and nothing to worry about. Likely by flowering it will pop out bigger fan leaves

No that was a picture from a month ago for some reason.
Reference maybe

Or smaller! Some narrow leaf types start out with fat ones and they get skinnier as the plant matures.

Small leaves can be a sign of a zinc deficiency if I remember correctly ?

if this is the first time growing this strain, then how would you know the leaves are smaller than they should be?
plant looks great. you’re just worrying.

Very true. You reminded me of a strain: Peyote Gorilla from Seedsman back in the day. Lower fan leaves were very fat, but when flowered, the upper fan leaves/leaf on bud was extremely narrow. Was an odd aesthetic

Don’t you mean Boron?
Ha! Just kidding.
Anyway, I think that plant looks normal, but in a month or so, I’ll have pictures of mine to compare it to.

Boron good. Calcium bad.
On smaller plants it’s more subtle, but still noticeable by leaves having trouble spreading their wings. I agree it doesn’t look out of wack though

It may be that you topped it more than the other plants and it has to distribute its energy throughout the increased space which decreases total leaf size.

She was first. Before the other 6 plants in the garden. Not topped just bent and mangled under a net. She has the smallest fan leafs compared to all the others. All are in the same soil and getting the same inputs. Transitioning to flower stretching and stacking is happening.
After getting white label seeds 5-6 years ago from Herbie’s I learned about US seedbanks. Rabbit hole for at least a month. Came out mumbling Bodhi, Goji and Sunshine Daydream. Went to JBC and got some Bodhi gear. No SSDD or Goji but real Bodhi gear. Low smells and bland taste. Seeded buds. Disappointing. My fault!! Soil has improved, and listening skills are improving. Thanks to @ramblinrose I ran 3 Goji f2s recently. 1 was outstanding and I noticed the other 2 kinda berry phenos made me really happy. Now there’s an opportunity to experience SSDD. Thanks @HolyAngel saw your episode and thought you were great, accomadating informative and patient. Good job brother
Thanks to all OG
Weekends almost here
Be well
Peace

This sounds like the one. She has like 2x-4x the biomass of others. She’s happy and healthy fighting off the unwanted and stacking.

Not enough difference to be significant IMO; Small containers = small plants.

Goji f2 from @ramblinrose last time. Not qualified to give smells but earthy kushy more than the berry from the others.
Big thanks.
