Strictly Indoors.
Haven’t started up with the grow room yet, but will do that in a couple of days.
Till these babies stand a little tall.
I am fortunate enough to have seeds in abundance though, to experiment with.
By May end I will be moving to my own house, a little outside of the town, with some green lands around.
Will need to find a good place for outside growing, and as the area is still under development, with dwellings coming around slowly I might find a place.
But for now, its a small start with Indoors which I will carry along to my new place. Around 2 months till then.
you will want different soil. this stuff has no aeration. i use a base mix of peat moss ewc and lava rock. but for now some promix or sunshine mix from walmart would do
Thanks for the hint. I felt the same. The soil is more like clay making no breather for roots.
Will this be right to transfer the babies to another pot at this stage or shall I wait for a while till they grow a little strong?
I’m at a different part of the world, (India), so these brand stuff (packaged soil mix) will not be available to me off the shelf.
Its a Sunday today, so I might visit the local horticulture store to find some good soil.
Any ideas in terms of consistency and chemical components will be helpful for me to identify the soil.
I know of NPK combinations, and the mere basics of it.
you want a soil that has atleast 1/3 aeration like perlite, lava rock, pumice etc. its best to mix your own but starting off you can just get a bagged soil and maybe a bag of perlite. also for nutrients you can find plants growing around your area that grow fast and are strong like say sweet potato shoots, mugwort, stinging nettle etc. take them mix them 1:1 with brown sugar and it will suck the juices out of the plants making a nutrient for your babies:) make sure to pick the plants before the sun comes up and dont wash them.
I like to roll the seeds up in a coffee filter or you can use a paper towel. After I wet the filter I shake off the excess water and put them in a sandwich bag.
The temperature of the seeds should be around 78 degrees. After the seeds pop I put them in small cups with holes in the bottom.
Have ya got access to any Old Kerala country seeds?
