Got 4 auto seeds for free from the local hydro store cause I’ve never ran autos. Going to run one while I veg my spring grow. But those seeds won’t be here till Monday. Any tips on auto flowers?
Plant them in the final pot.
@StinkyPinky420 I have that same pack that you have, I haven’t grew that yet but very curious how it turns out for you. Any tips for autoflowers? Well I just harvested a strawberry gorilla Auto and a cookie gelato Auto that had to go under 1212 very early in life and I really believe it affected my yield, I got 20 g off of the strawberry gorilla and haven’t weighed the other one yet but I definitely wouldn’t recommend putting autos with photos under 1212 LOL
The first few weeks are the most important. Make sure they get the best available light and never drop below 65°F. Temperatures in the 80s are best. Don’t train until you’re a month in and when topping, do your pinching in a way that removes as little as possible; don’t wait for a cola to grow for a couple of weeks but remove it as soon as you can see branches coming out from underneath.
I’m not big on auto’s. I did some in two gallon containers. I was happy. Did some in one gallon containers also. 2 gallon worked better for me.
Good luck.
I am currently in the middle of a harvest for 3 autos. One drying, one about to be chopped, another that is ~14 days out. I had good results with this grow - not breaking any records, but it looks like I will be well over 2oz with the first lady.
I went with 3 gallon cloth containers. I am going to try a 5 gallon bag next go around (which will be soon).
I my soil blend was: 2 parts Fox Farm Happy Frog Potting Soil, 1 part coco coir, 1 part perlite. I amended that with a bit of lime and some azomite. The first plant spead roots so thoroughly that I was able to remove the stump and the potting soil completely intact - the roots were threaded all through the medium - it was pretty rad. After 10 days, I fed silica until day 21 or so when I mixed in a 10/10/10 until around day 35 when I started feeding the girls the hard stuff - Flower Fuel which is 1/34/32.
I planted directly into the soil. My training was LST and didn’t begin until around day 25. All I did was pull down the branches and open them up a bit. Around day 35-40, I went hard with the clippers and removed all of the lower leaves and flower. Beyond helping with air flow, I was hoping that it helped the plant redirect its energy to the better, non-larfy buds.
Anyhow, treat the plants with kid gloves until they show their gender. Once they get large enough, they tend to be pretty tanky.
Got mail today went ahead and popped 5 nl2. Also got the skywalker OG auto in soil today pics when she breaks ground.
From Barney’s Farm… Skywalker OG Autoflower literally explodes into a pine-flavoured Christmas tree in a mere 70-75 days from seed. So July 11 +/-2 is your likely chop day.
3 out of 4 nl2 are above soil. One did not germ and the other ain’t broke ground probably going to replace with acog fems from greenpoint
4 nl2 broke found today!!
Balcony Bagseeds
Front two are a cross between a supposedly platinum bubba male bag seed and a sausage smelling hash plant but I don’t see any bubba in it.
Ran one outside a few years ago and she tasted like sugar cereal. The back three are random bagseed from good I’ve found here and there.
Just put 2 dancing lime in paper towels fingers crossed.
Do you check your runoff PH for water in soil?
No I haven’t been checking my ph
I’m just trying to see if 5.9 is too low for soil and if so what could I do to raise ph
