Strain Hunt In Western Uganda: Support The Mission

Hey fam,

Last year I visited Kinshasa and Goma to find the best landrace strains growing in the beautiful and extensive Democratic Republic of Congo. Thanks to the support I received from donors on this forum such as @upstate, I managed to come across three landrace strains.

Kinshasa Strain Hunt

April 2025
Africa has hundreds of unique landrace strains whose genetics have remained pure for decades. The reason why I want to explore eastern Uganda is because it borders northern Congo, an area that’s famous for producing some of the best sativa strains in Africa.

Birere sativa, for instance,is unlike anything you’ve encountered—it boasts a potent, unmistakable kerosene aroma. If this strain is any indication, I believe this region holds even more hidden treasures waiting to be discovered!

Join Me on an Exclusive Cannabis Expedition to Uganda!

This April 2025, I’m embarking on a 10-day journey to Eastern Uganda to explore and collect some of the finest cannabis genetics the region has to offer. But I need your support to make it happen!

I’m looking for 30 passionate supporters to contribute $80 each toward this adventure. In return, every donor will receive at least 15 seeds per strain I discover—exclusively reserved for donors to give you a competitive edge in cannabis cups and breeding projects.

This is your chance to be part of something truly unique and gain access to rare, untouched genetics from one of the most biodiverse cannabis regions in the world.

Interested? Send me a message, and I’ll share the payment details. Let’s make this mission a reality together! :seedling::sparkles:

I think we need much more support. I haven’t been around much to help, but I’m in for 2 shares. @Kidete Western Uganda borders the Congo. That town you mentioned is also in the West. I know this is a great place to hunt. Many or all of the genetics in this area are as yet, untouched by modern Indica.
There is the Famous Black Mamba type Ugandan, which is likely similar to the Birere. We are looking for plants with wide bottom branches whose width is similar to or more than the plant height. Thin, sticky buds and an instant high are also associated with this variety. Grows in corn fields. Somewhere.
I have a bunch of pictures. See if I can dig them up.
There is South Sudan nearby, Which grows tons of cannabis…there is The DRC, just over the border, and there is also a smaller, yet very tall, isolated mt range That looks very promising for cultivation. Pygmys are in proximity, so there is a chance at finding the Black Magic or other longflowering Congolese. The Rainforest of the Central African Republic is nearby too.
Growing Masisi, i realized central africa has a very old genepool and that true Equatorial types can still be found here. There is also very clearly a different genepool that is a blending of Equatorial types and Nile River types. In the 1920’s, the Hotspot for hashplant cultivation was in Sudan. Many of these northern genetics stayed in the tropics when cultivation moved to greece in the thirties. They have since extended their flowering term, While keeping the dense bud structure and becoming resistant to mold and mildew. I would imagine any of these types could be bred for shorter flowering terms, but like the old Durban Poison, If you favor the short flowering too much you’ll end up with an indica after some years of inbreeding. This genepool has a stony side, a trance like side to the buzz. I would call it a genepool of various ages. Some genetics arrived from up North ( or other)longer ago, some more recently, around 100 years ago during the hash days These genepools Are amongst the most underrepresented in modern hybrids. If you are a breeder and you are looking to do something different, this seedhunt is for you.
Some of these area sativas are basically acclimated sinai types/ old Lebanese types. Pretty cool! :sunglasses:
