Strains we miss

Well, I tell you, the males stunk to high heaven but in a good way. The female also smells really nice. Big fat buds and a nice taste. I sent JPS a ton of them to help out, but I guess he has run through them all. Thankfully, I still have a decent jar of them in my fridge. I will definitely grow them again.

yeah. the PPP went quick. there was another two y’all collaborated on that i grabbed as well
frankenkush (frankie x blue kush)
hubbabubba (bubba kush x BOG sour bubble)

i have a frankie going now in my 32oz cup experiment. it really is a beast of a plant. vigor. monster veg. i took cuttings last week and the cuttings are already rooted. none of the other cuttings are ready. i have to transplant to solos today. the roots are out of control. the cuttings are already trying to burst thru the clone dome.

not sure if you dropped a seed yet, but i remember you recently saying you were contemplating. i haven’t grown nearly as long as most of y’all on this forum, but i can say with certainty that this is one of the most vigorous seeds i have planted to date. acapulco gold and godfather og were the other 2 that just made you stop and take note. definitely exceptional.

I did drop one Fem Frankie but it’s not growing very well and far behind my other plants for some reason. But lots have grown it and had great success. Frankie is in the top left corner.

I miss weed that ISN’T gassy. Literally everything nowadays has a forefront fuel/gas/exhaust vibe or some sort of fuel backing to it. LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

I swear I don’t ever recall anything being “gassy” in the 90’s, not until about the early/mid 2000s is when I think I really started noticing this. …

The Gassy thing is cool for awhile then it just gets old at least for me anyway.I cant stand the Kerosene type gas phenos anymore.First real big outdoor grow i did inna long time was Copas Turkish Twist reeked like a dumped can of kerosene in a shed. Was the only weed i grew that year so i smoked it all year long until my next years outdoor were finished and i was so sick of it i would almost get sick smelling it was good shit so i suffered through it.

I miss Aerick77’s Cali-O (aka California Orange) from back in the day. That orange skunk smell and flavor are unforgettable ;-)~

(Could not find a flower pic :frowning: )

I held on to her for the first dozen years of the 2000s, but sadly let her go a decade ago when she was replaced by higher THC strains like Bruce Banner #3 & Gorilla Glue #4 that remain in my medicinal garden today.

oh man. that’s a bummer. my experience has been the exact opposite. i keep having to top it and tie it down. it’s already taller (and more unruly) then the rest.

i just had it out an hour ago to top it again and give it some water. i should have snapped a pic. i will next time i pull it out. back sore from all the bending.

have you ever tried cloning in those seedling bags? i wonder if it would work similarly to the rooting cubes…

I can’t remember the name, but for a few months in 2012 I got this sticky icky that smelled identical to lemon pledge. Like, clear your sinus level stank. Just a phenomenal smoke all around.

I also got some shit labeled pineapple that was perfect walk in a park/diskgolf/daily driver weed. Hands down favorite all time smoke. Had some of the best memories of my teens with that strain.

Not realy never grew any of his gear , I just know he was local to the Bay Area medical scene in the early days and was doing beans when most were pushing clones.

Blackberry Fire was great herb. Very euphoric and inspiring. It felt like a purple (such as GDP) crossed to Sour Diesel.
8+ years ago Dark Heart Nursery sold clones of it.

I miss a Bubba Kush X OG Kush cross called Tangerine Kush. Not the Rare Dankness strain w the same name. Though i’ve heard good things about it.

thanks for the feedback. always appreciate your input.

i picked up a bunch of stuff from purple caper i figured i would like when i finally got around to grow for myself.
he had 2 GDP crosses i picked up.
Grandaddy OG (GDP x OG Kush)
Grandaddy X (GDP x Purple Caper)

they are first on the list… itching to get at 'em. but alas two other projects in the way.

i have a LOT of GDP crosses i want to mess with. got some from authentic genetics and shoreline as well.

i need more space… lol.

This one will be awesome.
I’ve smoked this many times as the clone-only strain called God’s Gift. It somehow is to me even better than the great parent strains by themselves.

I believe the light green hydro was Chronic I could be wrong it had small Christmas tree shaped nugs. It was a skunk x nl hybrid later had ak47 reworked into it. Chronic also became a nickname for any weed that was super stinky and had similar potency. It took over southern cali and dr dre made an album with the name. If we’re talking about the same strain, it was so strong it gave you audible hallucinations, but they were very faint. Most people smoking chronic during highschool out here all shared the same paranoia of their mom shouting their name lol. This was audible hallucination was also referenced in the first Friday movie, miss that good old psychedelic paranoid trippy high.

i figured it would be. already like each parent by themselves.

seems like anything crossed with either GDP or OG Kush comes out great.

Cinderella 99 “C99” is for you. Very racy and thought-provoking. Bad for interacting w other people but excellent for computer work or other solo projects. Some Hazes are the same effect for me. Esp. if harvested early w no amber.

Some tiredness from the Jack Herrer part ?

Grandmommy Purple sounds like it could be a cross of GDP

That sounds like it would work well for my ADHD symptoms :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Turns out a lot of people love racy weed to help keep their minds in focus (until they toke too much and it’s interstellar journey time)
