I miss my Kali Mist and Opium mothers i lost years ago.
The Kali Mist was the early Version from 1996 and really something else.
I tryed her later again, around 2003,but it was not the same.
The Opium was the stinkiest Plant i ever grow and a real beauty, but they dont sell regular seeds from her anymore.
I am happy to have a sealed regular Pack of her left,so i can give her another try sometime.

Edit:i am wrong just checked the Opium package, they are feminised so no problem with this.

This must have been the Kali Mist which smelled and tasted like incense and leather? Foxtail buds and amber trichomes when properly done? Low yielding, but the high was incredible. Super social and complete head high. I miss her, too…

UDub.

From The Cannabible Vol. 2. As always take the strain description with a grain of salt…

Chris’s UBC Chemo is really good medicine. They dont grow like the newer stuff makes little 4 ft tall uniformed Christmas trees with Buds that are really hairy red fiery pistils everywhere that compress to make Little chunker buds that smell like a medicine cabinet very oily buds.

Problem is, that Mr. King’s strain descriptions in his books sometimes are not that accurate, not to say madeup …

But the pictures are great! :+1:

Some say it came from the university snuck out by a student some say it came from a native guy on an island in western WA who was allegedly a smuggler/ runner. Didn’t ever matter to me where it came from, just that it was here and it was incredibly.

Are you talking about Indian Jim?What were the stories you heard? This guy is a bit of a mystery.I always wondered if he was even real sometimes guy was like a ghost

I may be wrong. But i believe UDub is the ‘88 UW Black (purple) Hashplant.
Bodhi made Black Lotus w it. And OG has BL F2 and BL F3 seeds that were sent out in ‘23 and last year.
A BL F3 in early veg.

Some of them are still around, pre98 bubba, sfv og and banana kush are around and pop up once in awhile. From what i know there are two old durban cuts that are around that breeders use. Never seen the durban cuts myself, have seen some rare cuts but not durban.

I got some of those from longtooth, bless their heart. I hold them close to my heart and someday I will grow them and hopefully find something similar that we had back years ago.

@CapnCannabis I’ve heard whispers and read stories about “Indian Jim. I can’t recall to much off of the top of my head, but that he may be the one who’s made possible for all of us several strains. Maybe NL too?

The PNW is said to be responsible for a lot of great strains we have today.

Ive heard different things.Ive heard he was responsible for NL then i was also told NL came from Seattle Greg who got it off of Author Steven Murphy and that the Murphy Afghan was the real deal NL.Kind of confusing

I agree. It’s all really confusing and mysterious, but I think that’s what makes it so beautiful. We don’t really know, all we do know is that it exists and we’ve all had it or have it. Makes me grateful to have experienced it, whatever it is and to say “yeah, I’ve grown/smoked that, it’s awesome”is really the biggest treat in itself. The fact that it exists/existed is the real treat in my eyes. We really have no idea how fortunate we are.

To stay on topic. I miss Peyote Purple by Cannabiogen and Destroyer.

The Northern Lights i was getting back in 97-2003 was from a guy named George that was Russian. His family owned shoe stores and berry farms in Oregon. That weed was absolutely amazing and i never saw that quality ever again in that plant. Was one toke shit i dont even really see that anymore

The good old days am I right? I use to have a cut back 15 years ago everyone here in Spokane called “The Dutchess” that would put me on mars and I absolutely loved it. The kind of weed that you would pass a spliff around the slash pile burn and people would tap out for a second rotation, not because it was gross or bad but because it was “to much”. The good old days.
