Strange flowering

Hi friends.Half my plant is budding while the other half doesn’t. It’s in 3rd week of flowering. Is that normal?
Thanks in advance!

Is that half male flowers and half female flowers? What genetics is it? It definitely isn’t normal to have only half the plant flower. Yours is all flowering but I think you’ve got a full hermaphrodite.

Wow.
Can’t say I’ve seen that before…
At least not naturally, lol.

You’ve got yourself a she-male my friend.
And she’s very likely self-pollinated the entire mother.

Of all the rotten luck! And yet I laughed. A bloody she-male.
Thanks for the replies friends. I’ll promptly remove it.
The strain is Bubba Kush, and showed superior genetics up until this point. I’ve never seen a plant like this before.

Damn just cut the 2 confused branches up front. I mean its already 3/4 done and i dont see other plants. Just finish it and clean your setup for any potential pollen. That way youll atleast get some descent smoke possibly seeded better than no smoke at all right? Just my opinion bc from here the rest of the plant looks good.

What the actual… wow thats CRAZY! Never seen or even heard of a plant doing that.

Ive never seen it either its strange bc its only those 2 branches. Possibly light coming in? Normally a herm will be all oversporadically not isolated like that. Who the bubba from? Ive seen a number of em herm lately on several logs

I have only had that happen once and the branch that went intersex snapped and got taped back together in the stretch period just before flowers developed, it was stress induced for me as it never happened again and grew the plant a few times.

More details would help too. Oh well guess he cut her already

The seeds came from Spain I think. I already cut down the hermaphrodite branches. I can’t believe there aren’t new seeds yet. It sat there for 2 weeks. Hope there wont be any later.

Oh okay cool i was hoping you werent cutting the entire thing. It looks like a pretty big plant, keep us updated im curious to see how it finishes.

I have a friend who has been growing a long time. Studied under Dr Bugbee, whole nine.
He took one quick glance at the picture and said “HLV”. He has actually seen this before. HLV moves very slowly through the plant, and it is common for it to to be present much more in some branches than others. Add in a plant that is prone to stress herms, and boom, stress nanners on one branch.
Makes sense, but still the last thing I would have thought of.
EDIT: Typos

That’s super informative. Very cool!
Your friend is the only person to be familiar with this phenomena. It baffled pretty much everyone. Thanks for sharing!

Hop latent viroid. This is how I figured out my last facility had it, this and variegation on plants in veg that normally don’t varigate. Do you have dud buds on the plant? ( Little crystal/Trich coverage and orange In color as well as being small)

that’d be a classic example of hermaphrodite growth.

The first time I saw such phenomenon a whole branch of staminate cluster was in research and development greenhouse facility where Qualified PhDs were growing cannabis for extracts. It’s called intersex trait or hermaphrodism. some people indicating HLV due to the variegation on foliage, that’s not the case I have seen countless plant with variegation with no positive sign of HLV after testing them for that particular virus by lab.

You can’t take a glance at a plant on the internet and diagnose HLV. Plant needs to be tested as many different things can mimic what HLV looks like. Looking at a plant and saying it has HLV is along the same lines as saying you can determine sex of a seed by looking at it.

When you run 20k flowering plants every 63 days for a company that refuses to get new genetics and have to be the one to test weekly and do all the cleanup/sterilization work you learn hlv traits through eye balling. Dudding is only caused by one thing and that’s hlv.
