The two females from the Strayfox Hollywood Triangle femenized seeds are herms.
They never had any stress or photoperiod interruption. They are forming tiny balls on all the inner branching.
Thank goodness I caught it before anything opened up, or it would have screwed up my grow.
They are basically tiny male preflowers, like you would see when a male first sexes. But I also found one female flower on a lower branch bristling with green unopened balls.
Should have known better than to use any feminized seeds. I donāt need this in my grow.
Currently carefully misting down the hollywood triangles and chopping them. My current breeding project will not be impacted because I caught it in time, but I really donāt need this headache.
Last time I buy feminized seeds ever, even from a breeder I trust like @Strayfox.

Glad you caught it in time! It totally sucks, but if you hadnāt caught it in time it would have been so much worse

That sucks bro. I have a few of those Hollywood triangle packs. Iāll keep that in mind if I ever decide to pop them. I ran strays Hollywood pure kush s1ās no problem but Iām guessing that cross isnāt stable somehow. It happens

I have a few clones, if they root I will give it another chance from clone. Sometimes I have had plants that were more stable when grown from clone than from seed. If I do, Iāll update here.
Itās also possible I could have headed this off by pruning all the inner growth and lower branches, and only growing a few tops. But I like to see the natural structure when Iām growing plants for the first time. And Iām not sure if the tops would have remained stable.
Itās frustrating, but fortunately I take some pretty thorough precautions. I inspected it regularly so I caught it early.
I run my tents with hepa filters on the exhaust to capture any pollen. My main breeding project (preserving a line as pure f2ās) is isolated in another tent with a hepa filter on its intakes and exhaust.
These were growing in a tent with everything that I am outcrossing that line to. Iām doing selective pollination with an even ratio of pollen from all the males. It has hepa filters on the exhaust and intakes to isolate all the other plants from the pure line.
That gives me a good safety margin in case there is a herm.
edit- you can use hepa furnace filters in your grow ventilation for pollen filtration. It is very useful to stop your ventilation from blowing pollen out of the tents when you are growing males. No one wants to breathe that stuff.

@zephyr do you just cut the filter to size for the like 6ā diameter exhaust ports on the tent?

exactly. merv 14 rated or higher filters should also catch pollen effectively.
I cut it a little larger for a little bit of overhang to get a good seal. seal it tightly over the opening with one of those adjustable metal gasket things. tape also works for attaching it to flexible vent tubing. you just want to get a good airtight seal, using whatever method works best for your setup.

update- I killed off the clones. I just canāt have this in my grow if thereās any possibility that it will herm. I already have enough work on my plate with quality genetics that I know are stable.
If anyone wanted to grow out the rest of this pack of (fem Hollywood pure kush x triangle kush) to see if there is anything worthwhile here, Iāll send it your way.

Whatās the story behind Strays Michigan Skunk, and why did he abandon it?anyone grow any of the crosses? Did anyone find any resemblence to skunk (or even rancid dairy smells)?
Whatās up his new lil stinkerz lines, and is anybody finding anything worth while in those?
Part of me was hopeful when he boasted anout Tom Hills Indianā¦. But agter listening to that TH episode, and seeing Stray move on yet again, Iām more hesitant

Ah I totally missed this! Sadness. I have both cuts and the TK has always been pretty stable for me so Iām guessing its coming from the HPK side or something with the combination of the two 
I havenāt actually flowered out the HPK yet but Iāll definitely keep an eye out as Iām about to start here in a week or soā¦ Would suck if she herms easily as sheās really vigorous.

The Michigan skunk came from a dairy farmer in northern Michigan and didnāt translate much of the skunk that Stray found in the female he flowered to any offspring. The male he was using was a brother, so it had similar qualities to the female but not exactāand likewise didnāt translate what Stray was hoping to see in offspring. Seems like there were a couple grows over at RIU, but donāt recall if they used the Michigan skunk or the sterling green skunk. Seems like they were more sweet skunk, whichever they were.
Strayās moving fast and loose it seems, trying to make any possible genetic combination to find RKS, and releasing lots of stuff that doesnāt pan out as RKS. Lotsa guinea pig seed stock getting pushed to market, IMO.

I really like Starfighter if you canāt already tell. I actually was able to get 3 packs of the Starfighter f2sā¦ and hooked a buddy here on Overgrow up with one of the Starfighter packsā¦ Iām keeping 2 of themā¦ those were originally supposed to be ālimited, only 1 per personā but they didnāt sell as quickly as plannedā¦ so they sold me the last 3 packs.

Heās an old Breedbay guyā¦ so thatās how I know himā¦ he used to post frequently over there. Iāve been seeing his posts for years and watched the transformation he made from just being a Bodhi fan and home grower to seed maker. He started out making these Yo Mama crosses I think from my best recollection. Iāve also seen him work with other old Bodhi lines like Instant Karma, and Fantasy Islandā¦ his more modern work is much more impressive IMO. The Starfighter crosses I missed out on because I was on a hiatus from growing due to my neurological issues but thankfully I was able to pick a bunch of them up recently. Iāve seen that Cakefighter grown out and that one looks amazingā¦ as does TresFighter. I also have that Bodhi collab he did with TresFighter and Strawberry Milk.
I like watching how some of these great guys I met on forums over the years evolve into breeders/seed makers. It makes me happy to support them.
