Gorilla Girl XL
Day 14 since it popped
I think I hurt the little one’s feelings. It’s my first attempt on growing autos and there were many adjustments on the fly. First I tried using GPT to mix some soil and it confused “fertilized dirt” for “vegetable dirt” and it resulted in a soled unpenetrable mud. I’ve popped this little guy in this mix and also transplanted some basil to the same mix for control. The basil instantly withered and died so I ran to the closest suplies store and bought a magic coco brick. I then mixed the hydrated coco with my previous mix in a 1:1 ratio. It resulted in this flocky and very aerated soil. So I transplanted my suffering baby from its previous cup into this 0,5gal por filled with the new mix. It seems to be really happy now but its surely delayed in comparison to other OGs development.
It also has some leaf burns that I think were caused due to me still watering them with the atomizer loaded with 1% hydrogen peroxyde
. I’ve started feeding them some advanced nutrients sensi line and expect it to be a bit more stable from now.
This week was the time to learn about VPD and figuring ppfd lvls on the Photone app. This made me realize that they were also suffering from environmental damage because of some heat peaks. There are a few hours in the day when the tent gets some almost direct sun and it peakes at 88º. This lasts for about 3 hours and then back to ideal levels for the rest of the day and night. Im thinking about adjusting the light cycle to turn off at this time instead of nightime. They are meant to stay forever in 20/4 schedule (according to Sensi Seeds). I then popped another one so it can grow in better conditions and try to get it right.
I’m open for any advice on how to Control the environment and how to feed them in order to achieve the same growth rate as other OGs.
As much as I’ve trying to communicate as much details as possible, this is being a dazzling ride and there is just so much to learn. I recognize that I may be trying to skip due to the anxiety of watching them grow
.
That being said, how can I do better?
