Stunted seedlings

here are my seedlings. i don’t know what i’m doing wrong but their growth is stunted. i wanted to get them outdoors in 2 weeks but that’s not happening. i guess i could just take my chance at put them out anyway? if you read this let me know your thoughts. i’ve never had this happen before. i figured either overwatering, my new t5 is weak, or the room is/was too chilly. let me know what you think.

Looking wet, not enough drainage in those cup holders maybe?

i just watered them

They also look like they’re not getting enough light, but once you put them outside they’ll be fine.

More light and let them fully dry back. They will respond positively if you can warm them up too. :v:

What kind of seeds BTW?

Next seedling run id drop it down. I use 2x4 tents often with cheap plastic shelves and strap t8s i got from a remodel to each level undershelf. So have layers and with flouros you seems cannot hurt seedlings and they dont seem to waste energy reaching for the light. Def agree with post above about once outside theyll do their thing. Best of luck :100:and please keep us posted

i just moved them outside so we’ll see what happens. 4 blue dream and 5 sour o’s, all fem seeds. i hear ya on lowering the t5. i’ll get that done before my next batch.

I’d also repot them and bury all that extra stem to make them short and sturdy.

I would agree with the others man, those grew way too long and skinny. They really need more light. Not even sure how you can bury some of those stems since they are so long. The one in the bottom pic stretches all the way over to the next cup.

yeah, this t5 is no good, it’s just too weak compared to my last one. if i wanted to buy one like i had before it would have cost 2x the price and 1hour drive away.

Sure, but what is the drainage situation like?

The light is too high, the plants are stretching to reach it. How cold? Maybe need a heat mat? Overwatering maybe? How long between watering?

I agree with others that since you have them outside they should be good, as long as temps are okay. Have a good summer grow.

Low light, low temp.

Get a cheap light for veg. Amazon.com : BLOOM PLUS LED Grow Light BP 1000W 2x2ft Coverage Sunlike Full Spectrum Grow Light for Indoor Plants with 336packs Samsung Diodes(Includes IR) : Patio, Lawn & Garden
I have a 4000 it not a bad light. Cheap because I don’t believe they’re making them anymore.

CFL screw in lights are good for seedlings, I use two 23w 6000k for an area of 1’x2’ and can be as close as 2" away.

i actually have a MARS HYDRO TS1000 in a small tent i was planning on using for mothers but maybe that would be perfect for this. i just didn’t know how the seedlings would handle the heat/intensity

I think your light is strong enough just needs to be between 6-12 inches from tops. Also be careful not to let them get to much light outdoors at first they will be extra sensitive to the suns intensity.

I raise the light high at first. But lower it as they stretch.
