Here’s the thing…
I grow in a clean room style grow, each environmental variable under control. Under these conditions I can control every aspect of the plants growth, like a god. I use that fact to dial the conditions the plant needs to thrive. Forget chance and variables. Lock it down. My Great great grandma wants a hit. You won’t find any bug shit on there.
Ok so I grew some plants outside as well. Once I washed the bug shit and carcasses off there I pressed it in the rosin press. Woop de do, I’m sure that isn’t going to win at the contest.

Forgot to mention… in the results, outdoor sun grown bud was laid to waste by the indoor light grown. Oops

Actually, if you read my OP, I did define what I meant by better. 
unfortunately that is what I call “subjective”. If you view the results of the contest from this year, you can see that outdoor sun buds actually scored lower overall compared to indoor.

I do agree my statement is completely subjective. That said, so are the results to this and any other cup 
in fact, I’d argue the experience of consuming cannabis is intrinsically subjective seeing as it effects each user in different ways.

Yah I can get behind that. It’s definitely a subjective experience that is unique to each person. That’s why I stay away from arguments like that because there is no concrete answers. The results of the contest are the best indicator of where you stand though, in comparison with other people. Once you lose you have to either kiss your ass goodbye or improve and win.

Joe, we can do all those things in a greenhouse and use the sun to power the plants. No bug shit, no pm, just sun grown buds in an environmentally controlled greenhouse.
I am curious if you have any info to add to the sun vs artificial light spectrum?

sure, my final point was you can enter a contest and have your buds judged to see if they really are the “best”, that’s the only way you can really prove it. The judging in the contest showed outdoor grown buds have a lower score than indoor. I mean, that’s where the rubber hits the road, right?

We won a cup in my state with outdoor grown bud, and that was in low rent hoop houses.

Did they have separate categories for indoor and outdoor? How was the spread between the scores?

There was not separate categories. They also took home a ton of trophies in the concentrates cup this year with a greenhouse grown Donnie Burger.
I did notice your cup was divided into artificial lighting or no artificial lighting. I have to think it’s a tough gig trying to pull off a sun grow in Canada with zero artificial lighting?

naw, They’re mostly pumping sarah’s secret and using light dep. SS is auto and…they tarp the long blooming ones. Too bad no separate categories! The contest is used to gather industry stats, so there was a separate category for everything.
I think the real question one should ask themselves…Do you turn down primo bud because it’s grown inside or out?
If you would smoke both, well then, there’s your answer

Thanks, nothing like adding a little rational thinking to the mix. My large hybrids, that I nurtured from seed, got a case of powdery mildew in late September. They were a sun grown waste. Now I need to do an indoor run this winter.

I said way up this thread that I would come back here and report on my last indoor’s grow compared to my outdoor.
Everything is so close I can’t say…
Just find out how to grow it and it will be good.

Calling shenanigans cause that indoor beauty is whisperin in your ear. LOL. Just saw Plasma Lighting with CO2 generators, the sun is done. Here comes the indoor sun. BUT
I really, Really like the concept of these sun sheds, have you seen any renditions?

No I havnt. Are talking about bringing in real natural sunlight to your grows using mirrors? If so u would have to have a platform of mirrors, and they do make mirrors that have anti reflection. Most commonly found in optics. This would be similar to fiber optics. Like what u people in big cities have that power your high power internet.
